Right. The *.answers guidelines recommend posting at least quarterly
to keep the FAQs in all areas of the archive. For the *.answers areas
I stretched that to 12-18 months. Updating the content isn't
necessary, just posting the article (and having it archived successfully).

It does happen sometimes. We only find out about it when the
newsgroup readers complain, and then we SUSPEND the posting and send a
note to the maintainer explaining how to RESUME it if desired.
