1) obsolete but still valid
2) dangerous if outdated.
In the first group might be things like FAQs on old computer systems, and
"dead media" - I recall that there are FAQ files on things like RCA
Seletavison players, Commodore computers, and the like. It is likely that
that sort of FAQ will likely reach a stable state and reach the point where
it is no longer maintined and posted, BUT the information will still be valid
as far as it goes, and still useful to someone who has the items that is
described.. In fact it may be the only available information on an item..
These sort of FAQS should probaly be made avilable "forever" and you may want
to think about a policy to keeping them in a special spot, perhaps moving
them to "non-maintained" directory that is listed with "all" the search
engines..
The second group might be ones dealing with medical and legal issues, current
events and the like, which may at the very least need a clear disclaimer that
the information may be out of date. Even there, subject to the disclaimer,
the information may be of interest as a sign of the way things were, rather
than as information to act on.
