Once upon a time, FAQ lists were all about topics, so the
question wouldn't generally arise. Originally, of course,
the acronym "FAQ" stood for "Frequently Asked Question" and an
"FAQ list" was a list of answers to same. Now that "FAQ" pretty
much just means "handy reference in Q/A form", and that newsgroup
FAQs tend to contain as much about the newsgroup as about the
topic of the newsgroup, I suppose it's a plausible question.
FWIW, I refer to the FAQ list I maintain either as "The C FAQ
List" or "The comp.lang.c FAQ List", pretty much at random;
I don't really distinguish between the two potential names.
(As it happens, though, that list almost exclusively concerned
with C, and not so much with the newsgroup itself. In fact,
I've resisted requests to include material about netiquette;
I've always believed that sort of thing is better covered in
a periodical "Welcome to..." posting.)
