I'm not one of the news.answers moderators, but I hope that this is left
up to the individual newsgroups. There really shouldn't be a
predetermined name. For example, the main FAQ on alt.tv.simpsons is the
List of Inquiries and Substantive Answers (LISA). Declaring that it
would have to be (or would be preferred to be) ``The alt.tv.simpsons
FAQ'' would not be the thing to do.
To your specific question, is your RAAM FAQ geared more towards the
genre or the newsgroup--i.e. is it an encyclopedic reference or a
compendium of commonly asked questions and procedures on the newsgroup?
Just glancing at the FAQs, anime/faq looks more like a reference that
could be used on or off-line. There's no reference to netiquette, not
much reference to USENET-related questions, &c. I'd say that that
should be an Anime FAQ.
With anime/welcome , I'd say that that looks more like something that
would be of no use to those offline. It also looks like something that
would be of immense use to those using USENET. So I'd say that that one
should be a rec.arts.anime.misc FAQ.
I was hoping that it wouldn't be quite so clear-cut, but it looks that
way.
