"2)", not "3)". :)

I wasn't going to answer, since I don't think it's fair to the many
subscribers of <faq-maintainers@faqs.org> to have this email list turn
into an escalation path for people who are awaiting a response from
<news-answers-request@mit.edu>. However, given that somebody has
replied, I'll add another possibility, one which I think may have a
high probability of causing the problem....

4) The first line of the auxillary header, "Version 4.11", is missing
a colon, and thus scripts which parse the posting may be led to
believe there is no auxillary header in the posting.

At least, that's true for the 30 November 2000 posting archived at
www.deja.com. Now, the 1 May 1999 posting as archived on rtfm.mit.edu
*also* has the same problem, but it's possible that one was forcibly
saved for some reason.
