Maybe this is a problem.

I committed my FAQ to the auto posting server because I do not have access or enough experience in Unix. The auto poster was my only solution to dealing with the mandatory header lines. If not for that I'd be posting a FAQ manually every month and it might never get properly archived.

Maybe what needs to happen is some type of encrypted and passworded web interface that any appointed person(s) could use.

I've seen and operated the remote administration of web, news, and mail accounts by remote web interface so it should be possible? By this I mean adding and subtracting customers at an ISP.

EGroups has a system that allows a list server moderator to approve new subscription requests by e-mail. A request comes in by e-mail, you look it over, and by just hitting REPLY, a message is sent back with a specific set of commands in the subject line that adds the person to a list.

It really is an easy way to deal with such and one does not need to know Majordomo. List servers for the multitudes!

So, I'm no CGI or Java Wiz, but maybe that is what is needed these days when more people are on Windows and Mac systems but not on Unix.

Blasphemy? Maybe. Reality? definitely.
