Not if the other person only 'stole information', which is
what Terry Ortman said. Actually, he said
another person basically stole my info
so it's unclear exactly what he's claiming.
In any case, information is not generally protected by
copyright. Information is an idea; copyright only protects
the expression. There are exceptions so that a collection
of information can be protected by copyright, but this is a
rather narrow exception and it's unlikely that a Usenet FAQ
would meet the requirements.
If Terry Ortman can show that someone else actually has his
*words* posted on Mindspring, his sentences and paragraphs,
then Mindspring should take action. Otherwise he has no
case.
