He started this in July of this year. I stopped posting ym FAQ in July of
1997, and rewrote it to conform to usenet guidelines for FAQs, as soon as
my FAQ was approved, and carries the approved by line and is served by the
FAQ-server, this person, his name is dupasi07@mindspring.com continues to
post his url, hosted at mindspring, saying that's the url for the FAQ, he
posts this to all traci-lords newsgroups, and has since signed up and is
using the email address aftlfaq@mindspring.com
I have found someone has also reserved the email addresses and used to send
me threats and harassing email, tracifaq@hotmail.com, aftlfaq@usa.net, and
several other free email services.
I have been complaining to mindsprings abuse department for the past 8
months about this person, and he continues to tell anyone that is new to
either newsgroup to get the FAQ at his url.
highest violation of usenet posting rules. I have since amended the FAQ to
make any and all postings to the newsgroups from mindspring.com OFF-TOPIC,
for the simple reason they refuse to stop this person from abusing the
newsgroups.
I was wondering if anyone reading this mailing list, could suggest some way
to have mindspring.com enforce their terms of use, which makes it clear to
READ news.answers for FAQ info, and that FAQs exist for the policy of the
newsgroup.
I continue to post that the FAQ is on the server at rtfm.mit.edu and that
it was posted every 30 days, but since this person has decided he will post
his FAQ url every week, I have sent the command to post the Approved FAQ
every 7 days.
The problem is my FAQ makes it clear that Traci Lords Adult appearances,
etc., were done when she was under age, and although they are no longer
considered to be Child Porn, this type of stuff should be kept out of the
newsgroup which is publicly accessible.
I'd like to also point out that Traci Lords herself, in an interview on the
new LAUNCH CD-ROM about BLADE, the person these newsgroups were started to
HONOR, says in this interview she is upset that the newsgroups continue to
promote nothing but her underage movies, and she herself doesn't like this.
If there is some way other than filing a Federal Copyright Lawsuit against
mindspring.com for publishing my Copyrighted work on their server, that
anyone knows of, would you please let me know.
I have complained and complaiend, mindspring does nothing, and I need to
get this other 'FAQ' which is not approved, removed, and I need to find a
way to stop mindspring and other Free Email services from letting people
use aftlfaq as their mail name, as by them usingt hat and posting their
unapproved material, is implying that they are the FAQ maintainer, and
their FAQ is approved.
