Most modern browsers print-render documents relatively well given decent
code to chew on. This is one of the advantages of using stylesheets in your
code: most CSS-aware browsers will understand media-type tags well enough to
print nicely.
All you have to do is create a stylesheet for "print media", and get the
browser to load that one up prior to rendering your page.
[Note to HTML FAQ authors: you _do_ use stylesheets, don't you?]
I agree this is slightly off-topic, but I think the authors of a page have
to accept at least half the responsibility for this one.
