I wonder if it is possible for more than one maintainer to be able to
post a FAQ to *.answers newsgroups. I have asked this question a year
or two ago, but, at the time, there was no one around able to answer it.
I post a FAQ for someone else, under that person's name and address. I
happen to be a de-facto co-maintainer of that FAQ and now that there is
a change of e-mail address of the 'official' maintainer on the horizon,
we both decided that it would perhaps be better if I register myself as
a maintainer, too - to be able to post the FAQ under my own name and
address, if need be. In the case like mine, the only thing that the
*.answers moderators would need to add to their database would be an
additional 'From:' header, since the same person would continue to post
the FAQ. Has there been a precedent for more than one person being
'officially' able to post the same FAQ to *.answers newsgroups? Is it
possible at all? If yes, how does one go about registering a second
name and address??
Now, I understand that there is a potential problem with multiple
registrations for the same FAQ - with co-maintainers ending up split,
each claiming the FAQ as his/her own. If this indeed is seen as a
problem, how about registering only one maintainer as the 'primary' one
and the other(s) as 'secondary'? In my case, I'd be willing in advance
to assume a 'secondary' role. ;-)
In case it matters, the FAQ in question is for rec.food.cooking and the
'official' maintainer is Maryf <maryf@earthlink.net>.
