You could point out that if this person feels so strongly, they are free
to create their own FAQ. What you provide is a service to the newsgroup.
The other person could just as easily produce their own FAQ. Reality is
that few flamers have the inclination to go to that effort. They just
want to be visible and to get you to react. If you react with a positive
approach to the flamer by couching your response towards what is better
for the newsgroup, you box them into a corner. Many times this works.
Even when it does not, the readership of the newsgroup sees the real side
the flamer. Then would be a good time to put a Q&A in your faq about how
to use killfiles. ;)
