True. Use of this material is more of an editorial copyright. Still,
copyrights for translations and some other works for hire are held to
the editors/translators [1]. So, I'd assume that FAQ maintainence would
be the same.

Actually, there are two terms. The maintainer is the guy why currently
maintains the FFAQ, while the author is the original guy.

True, but the purpose is different.
My FAQ's copyright disclaimer[2], BTW, just says that if you want to
sell it, I have to approve, and if you print in in a magazine, you have
to tell me.
I think that's enough.
