Well, I figure at least the squeaky wheel will get the grease (no pun
intended :-).

I did serve as a volunteer *.answers moderator for a while in 1993/1994,
even set up the initial procmail filtering and auto-reply message, so I
am sympathetic, to a point. When the *.answers project starts being
more harm than good to other newsgroups (not just alt.fan.greaseman),
it's time for a graceful shutdown. There's no excuse for a runaway
automated nuisance on the net, volunteers available or not.
