Although one aspect of the Internet in the UK which is exploding is free
internet providers. This has resulted in one provider going from 0 to
being Britain's largest ISP in 6 months and it now has over 1 million
subscribers. It's a local call to use the service, but to actually have
the account it costs nothing. The next wave, where people don't even
have to pay for the phone call either is likely to see quite a change in
UK internet use and habits and will significantly widen access.
