Since everyone who has posted so far seems to disagree, I just thought
I'd add my opinion.

I agree with David.

On a more general note; as long as David does the moderating, and he is
_slightly_ overworked, I cannot see what the harm is in him asking us,
basically, to do him a simple favour which takes us very little time,
and may save him a lot of time.

I'm not saying that, because he is the moderator, he can impose what he
pleases, but in this case all the arguments I have seen against his
suggestion are too weak to be worth
anything.

'It works, don't fix it' is a 'stick your head in the sand' attitude
which leads to reactive management; typical of bad management. And,
besides, I am sure David wouldn't have brought it up if he didn't
consider it to be 'broken'.

The above just to bring some balance into this thread.
