You've been a victim of something or other.

Every now and again, someone unscrupulous decides to forge cancel
messages for otherwise valid posts. FAQs are popular targets, as are
a handful of specific newsgroups. A small variation on this involves
posting articles with improperly set "Supersedes:" headers.

Another group of people, figuratively wearing white hats, often repost
FAQs thus affected, and issue cancels for forgeries and other sorts of
spam.

If one of your articles is superseded, and the white-hat-wearer who
resurrects it or cancels the forgery doesn't have everything set up
perfectly, sometimes you'll get an autoreply from the news.answers
system. Generally your FAQ won't be the only one affected, and we'll
be aware of what has happened.
