As things get abused, things get disabled or discarded. At least that's what's happened on srv4.reelwest.bc.ca; I asked my upstream to discard posts with Supersedes: in the header. Control: cancel will follow as soon as I get NoCeM On Spool working.
When I put in the request, I asked them about *.answers. While they didn't say so outright, I'm sure they wouldn't have blatantly put in the filters without ignoring *.answers. As of today (1 JAN 1999) I can see FAQ postings with Supersedes: in the header, but no Supersedes: in nana.email or other frequently abused groups. I guess they can filter and override filters in certain groups.
But like anything else frequently abused, Supersedes: is going away. At least here.
