The whole idea of using "Supersedes" is to keep only one copy of the FAQ
around. The old way was to put the expires at "a Month and a half" for a
monthly posting, and count on Supersedes to kill the old copy when the new
copy arrived.. Back when a posting might take a week to be distributed.

If you assume that News will manage to get around in a couple of days, you
can just use "expires" to Kill off old copies.

The "Hipcrime" problem is now added to the other problem of some news hosts
treating a Supersedes as a cancel and not forwarding it under some
conditions.

This discussion has convinced me, no more Supersedes on my FAQ. The third
strike is that when I post "Hand-dralicaly" like I do, I have to get the
old ID number from RTFM, to post it into the new FAQ. If I don't use it, I
can just edit a master copy to have the right expires date, and post on
time instead of being two months behind as I am now...
