For what its worth, Remeber that the RTFM archive is only "cleaned out"
on an ocasional basis" so you could in theroy put your FAQ with a
"posting frequency of "yearly" or "every 6 Months", and still be
"periodic" In the meantime post your Pointer every two weeks (or
whatever) - Don't bother to post it the same week as the "Yearly"
posting. I don't believe that any part of the official system checkes
the frequency, other than when the clean-up team at RTFM finds an OLD
faq in the FTP directory.

This may fit in with Pams Comment.. You could post yearly to a low
volume group, and *.answers, and post your pointer all over the place.
