Rubywand gives good advice. One point deserves
clarification:

If you do this, you should make it clear that you only
grant permission for an automated mirror, automatically
updated either from Usenet or from rtfm.mit.edu. Lots of
people may ask to put a copy of your FAQ on their site, but
they almost always assume it's a static document and they
won't make any effort to update it when you alter the
original. For these, you want to make it clear that there
are several sites they can link to (rtfm, faqs.org, etc)
which keep all FAQs up to date, but that they should not
attempt to keep their own copy.

Others may feel differently, but I think this is probably
the most common attitude among FAQ maintainers. We tend to
look unfavorably on out of date copies.
