How do I get the FAQ to someone?

Assuming you want to send it to PAM, Send the entire file as posted as an
attachment to <pgreene@optics.rochester.edu> or
<news-answers-request@MIT.edu> ...... I suspect that the MIT address may
be more usefull.

BUT the fact that the posting was 500K+ may explain by itself why you are
having trouble with getting it out. Articles that long are normally
Binary posts to one of the "Pictures" groups, and there are a good many
sites that do not want the liability of distributing posts that may contain
pictures that are considered "Naughty" by the local authorities.

The old rule used to be that each part of an FAQ should only be 64K, as at
one time that was the limit of some software... (AOL used to be 32K when
they burst on the horizon) These days I would be tempted to break up
anything over 100K into parts.....

The other thing is that for the maintainers to check out the propagation, I
would guess that they would need all the headers "as posted" on your news
server... In other words all the headers as it sits on the machine you
posted to. The message ID that your posting host used can be used to
search for that instance of the article to see if it got to North America
for example.

I know that the propagation on usenet does not seem to be as good as it
used to be, the large annount of spam and stuff has discuraged many service
providers form keeping their news machines in tune.
