I maintain a Chocolate FAQ, which is the the FAQ for both
rec.food.chocolate and alt.food.chocolate - quite obviously both groups
have similar subject matter. The rec group was born out of the alt group,
but the alt group remains active, so the title of my FAQ doesn't point to
one group or the other, it just covers them both.

My FAQ is archived as being under rec.food.chocolate, because I see that as
the primary group. Most people have access to the rec groups, whereas the
alt groups aren't as universal. I'm guessing it'll be up to you to decide
how you want to archive it. Some folks archive their documents twice, under
both groups, which might be appropriate for you if there is any difference
in the subject matter of your two groups. a.f.chocolate never died after
the rec group was created; I don't see a need to perpetuate it through
keeping a distinct document archived for it.

Welcome to the Club ;)
Seriously tho, hope that helps.
