Actually, every FAQ is archived under every newsgroup it's posted to.
In the *.answers areas of the archive, it's stored under the
"canonical" Archive-name. In the other newsgroups' areas, it's stored
by Subject, although it is possible to specify different archive names
to be used in the non-*.answers areas, in which case it'll be stored
under those instead of by Subject. For an example, see section 2.1 C
of the submission guidelines,
ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/news.answers/news-answers/guidelines
So, to post a FAQ which is appropriate to more than one newsgroup,
just put all the newsgroups into its Newsgroups header, choose a
Subject which is general enough to apply to them all ("Chocolate FAQ"
instead of "rec.food.chocolate FAQ", for instance), choose a *.answers
Archive-name which relates to the topic discussed, get the whole mess
approved, and relax after a job well done. :)
