Well, in my case, it came about because an FAQ was necessary, but there wasn't
one available. Through my own foolish actions, the FAQ came about...

Back about 2 years ago, I first started lurking on alt.devilbunnies, & it seemed
that there was a feeling of shared history, but the history was vague and
ill-defined at best. After I had been posting for a while, a lurker wrote
to me and asked the infamous "What the hell is this group all about?"
question, so I wrote a quick description and mailed it off to him.

But it got me thinking -- if one person was curious enough to ask, maybe
there were more... so I sat down one night and wrote a FAQ, and posted it
the next day.

I was shocked when it got rave reviews, and people asked me to continue
with it. I found out later that there had once been a FAQ for the group,
but the keeper had long since disappeared.... I managed to find a copy of
the old FAQ, and saw that the group had *really* changed in the year or
so that there was no FAQ. Heh.

So, from a humble 75 line unsolicited document (full of typos), today's
1500 line monstrosity was born. And it's still full of typos.... <sigh> =)

Bill.
