A new mailing list forum called WIN-95 "Give & Take" started in early May
(late April) of this year (1995) to discuss problems and issues concerning
users of WINDOWS 95 preview/beta. Within a short two weeks, came
the inevitable *discussion* about what is the focus of this group and why
do we keep answering the same questions over and over again.

Since I like to be part of the solution and not the problem (and had had
many years experience in User Support) I offered to scan the list's first
two week's archives (almost 2 meg) and develop a "quick & dirty" FAQ.

With the support and encouragement of others that FAQ has been refined
and updated continously since then. It is now available:

- in Ascii or HTML format from the listserver for the 1,300 members
of the WIN95 "Give & Take" (from initially a couple of hundred) ,

- available on one of the member's web page and pointers are on
a few other web sites

- and I get at least a half-dozen request each day for a copy from
news groups where I've posted pointers (I can't seem to figure out
how to post a 50k (900 line) file successfully to the relevant groups

Last week, at the encouragement of several people I submitted the
win95 FAQ for approval by the *.answer people.

So I'm a "newbie" to the faq-maintainers group.
