If you need to send compressed or binary files to inexperienced DOS
users, Geoff Percival (geoffp@viewpont.infocom.co.uk) has written a
batch file which will uuencode a binary file. The clever bit is that
it puts a copy of uudecode at the top, written in a debug script.
This gets unpacked and then decodes the main message.

Practically this means that when you save a mail message with the
batch file to junk.bat and then run it on a DOS machine, it will
unpack itself. If your original file was a self-extracting zip
file, this can be expanded too.

Geoff has given me permission to distribute this file. I've
left it for anonymous ftp at

ftp://mgu.bath.ac.uk/pub/selfe.bat

I can send a copy by e-mail if anyone wants it.
