Do *NOT* take upon yourself to simply start posting. If you do so, per
*.answers policy, we will cancel your posts immediately, if they are
cross-posted into *.answers, since you will not have been approved to
cross-post them into *.answers. If you post them only to
news.announce.newusers, the moderator of that group will probably also
simply cancel your postings and flame at you.
If you wish to help make sure that these posts continue to be made
available (and I do share your concern in general), you may wish to
contact the currently listed maintainer to voice your concerns that he
has not been posting them regularly. You may even wish to offer to him
to assume responsibilities for these postings. You may wish to voice
your concern directly to the moderators of the moderated newsgroups
involved (discussion on faq-maintainers does not constitute *DIRECTLY*
notifying the *.answers moderators, by the way). These would all be
acceptable and reasonable steps to take; simply reposting the original
articles themselves, without approval, would not be.
