Possibly, but not necessarily. Is he in engineering or marketing? Are his
loyalties to his employer or to his profession?

If he's the best qualified (or the only volunteer), yes. There should be a
method for including other viewpoints, though. If there's a good case to
be made for device XYZ being a piece of junk in some way, it should be
possible for that to be included without getting him fired for not echoing
the company line.

Yes. But someone will have a problem no matter what. Do your best and
ignore the consequences.

That would be a good idea.
