One data point: I bought the Internet Info CD a while ago because it is a
heck of a lot more convenient to get the FAQ's, rfc's, etc, off it than it
is to go hunting for an ftp site. Grepping for useful things is a lot
easier too. The documents are a little old sure, but mostly I'm
interested in a general overview of a topic and then I can go get the
latest version of the FAQ on the net if I want to know more. I regularly
get other Walnut Creek CD's for the same reason. I most certainly do have
net access.

Whether publishing without permission is another matter. My take on it is
that unless some particular FAQ's are selected as the "best FAQ's of
USENET" or somesuch, then it is merely a very slow news feed of
news.answers. But then, I'm not a lawyer so I see things in terms of what
I can better enable society to find out, rather than in terms of what I
can stop society finding out. Since my "day job" pays enough, it's no
skin off my nose if Walnut Creek makes 0.000001 cents on every copy of a
FAQ they sell and helps society find out more things in the process.

Maybe I'm just weird?

Cheers,

Rhys.
