in response to"captrickless" post, I don't know you, but I'm guessing you're in high school, just got your lisence, at under the age of 20. You're argument in favor of smoking pot doesn't help do anything except give a reason for it to remale illegal. I'm not against it, I've never tried it, and your driving habbits have nothing to do with smoking pot. Smoking pot is not irresponsible, but the way you drive is and that has nothing to do with your smoking habbits. Dude, picture you eating your McDonalds going down a residential street and a little 3 year old child who doesn't know any better, chases a ball she was playing with out into the street from behind a parked car and you don't see it until it's too late. Pot doesn't effect you for the rest of your life, but bad and irresponsible decisions do, and your driving habbits are irresponsible and could cause the life of another person which will be on your head and I'm assuming you drive like that regardless if you're smoking or not. For your sake and for the sake of any possible accident that will hopefully not happen, think about your choices and what you do and how it can effect people because what you do does effect people whether it's a kid lying dead in the street because you couldn't stop on time, or if it's your mothers car insurance being raised and the parking ticket that will have to be paid because you got caught for speeding. Think about it. It's not cool to drive irresponsibly and that has nothing to do with pot.

I've smoked for 33 years and drove a semi for 20 years smoking about 1 ounce a week. I left the trucking industry because of the drug laws and the federal driver�s lic. My last 10 years I worked in a very demanding area of driving. Until I came along the company I worked for didn't have a single driver go without an accident for more than 3 years. I left the company with a 10 year safe driving record and trophy and my record still stands. I took first place in a national truck rodeo 3 consecutive years and smoked in everyone. I have slowed down on my smoking now that I�m a little older but age has little to do with it since the government took my job I�ve been taking government money to live and they don�t give you much. When they get off there drug kick I my go back to work but until then I�m going to take from them everything I can get. Hopefully they will go bankrupt soon as I would like to get back to work.

this is stupid, if anyone were to die in a car acciednt it would be a retard with no sense of direction or brains. I have driven while high and so as my friends, yeah were dumb asses for doing it as often but were smart enough on how drive the right way. it doesnt matter how high you are either besides if you were high in the middle of the road then i think the worst out come would be stopping in the middle of the road. It is impossible to know the ratio exactly but do not be fooled by propaganda commercials saying 1 in 3 drivers in accidents tested positive for THC of course they did it stays in your system for up to 30 days. That does NOT mean 1 in 3 drivers were high during the accident. Accidents related to alcohol are must higher then marijuana, otherwise it would be as big a deal as DWI.

4 out of every 10 drunk drivers are killed in car accidents not even half that 1 out of every 17 are actually high when they are killed in car accidents thats almost half the amount.

It doesn't matter the statistics. Marijuana kills however it is used and we need to address this problem. You people who sit there and say that you've been smoking it for years obviously do not know right from wrong. Come on people, use the brains you were born with....if they're still there.

I think that perhaps pot does impair your immediate impulses, but it has been proven by scientists that the body breaks down its chemicals within 3-4 hours after smoking marijuana. I also think that it is rediculous the amount of information the government is overlooking. They are exaggerating on the cons of marijuana, and throwing out every pro.

I am a probation officer and have studied marijuana retention times extensivley. Actually, marijuana (THC) only stays in your system for 7-21 days depending on the frequency you use it. 30 days is a myth. If you smoke a joint a day for a year, then it would saty in your system for 21 days at the MAX. With most users it is actually out of your system in 7-10 days. Other drugs only have a 3-5 day rentention, such as methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription drugs. i could be more scientific about all this, but it would get boring fast.

well i think that smokin weed and drivin is ok..if u can drive in the first place. more deaths r caused by drinkin and driving than smokin and driving..plus when ur high, ur more aware of ur surroundings..so i think that its bs that the government makes such a big deal about smokin weed...alcohol is a bigger threat and its not banned

they take your licence if you drive or not, if you get found with marijuana on you. that's dicrimmination! then suject you to double jeopardy to get your licence back. ticket, court fee, suspension, substance abuse classes, reinstatement fees ($160), then insurance hikes! 2 year suspension if noncomply!

There is nothing wrong with pot. The only thing bad about it is that it costs alot of money. But that is the smokers problem. You can't overdose on Pot, unlike alcohol.

Me personally I have almost killed myself and a friend stopping at a red light because I was stoned..I sure beat up my car..And my friend wasn't wearing her seabelt..Good thing she still lives..Your reaction time is much slower when you are enebriated..Pot is a DRUG=ADDICTION!Please get a medical book and see for yourselves!

no one really dies from smoking alone there is always, always another disabling drug in thier system. ofcourse one in three drivers tested possitive for pot, every one smokes.
