I am interested in a SW tuner that would plug into a preamp/stereo system that would have excellent reception of European stations (especially French).  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Should I buy something like a Telefunken HR-3000, a Hallicrafter S-53, a Grundig YachtBoy 400PE?  I am looking on eBay, but know nothing about shortwave.
Thanks!
