I have a '92 Honda Accord EX, automaticand while doing a tune up at home, I found that my #1, #3, & #4 spark plugs were covered with oil.I replaced the plugs with new ones. The old ones were gapped at.052 when there suppose to be .044 When I started the car after replacing the spark plugs the engine started smoking and making a knocking sound. I was told it was the timing so I time it according to the book but it steel knocks. I even retarted the timing and the knocking got quieter. If I advance it it get louder. I still have power on take off but it just knocks when I fist take off and goes away or when I rev the engine or take off. What is going on? I'm replacing the spark plug tubes so the oil won't get in the spark plugs again Please advise""
