I have a 3 year old Beagle who is the most loving, kind and affectionate dog with people, kids and other dogs.  Yesterday I brought home a 6 week old Beagle pup.  I was able to get the new pup's scent on clothing and bring it home to my dog to smell before I brought home the new pup.  That was all I was able to do beforehand.  All other dogs that have come over, my dog has not had a problem with and has instantly played with them, etc.  I realize it takes time for him to adjust to the new pup, my reigning Beagle is smart and knows this dog is not someone else's and is staying...He does not want anything to do with the new pup at all!  He growls at him and if the new pup gets close to him, he growls and runs away...yet he is curious about him as well.  IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO SPEED UP AND HELP EASE THE TRANSITION OF THE "GETTING TO KNOW YOU AND LIKE YOU" PROCESS?  Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you.
