I have  89 VW automatic golf the other day the throttle cable came off the Transmission    ball bracket & I was on a highway   it was dark & did not see it   so I jammed  a small  piece of metal  to keep the throttle, up you  know  by the housing  on top of the intake    got in, put in drive & drove it home   about 3-4 rpm  about 30 mph  if that   & 10-15 mins  ....till home.... now I fix the  throttle cable with two new clip from dealer  & now  when the  goes in drive    it   wants to take off  like the  gas pedal sticks . But reverse, park, neutral all works fine  with gas pedal  even 2nd & 1 still  work OK but the gas pedal  will not go all the way down  but the car will move…….could there be something stuck.?   Like the converter.
The throttle cable works fine but as soon as it goes into drive it wants to take off   like I have the pedal to the floor  ……I have to put in neutral & turn it off……
Can anyone help…..
