Your pup may have had one pup because maybe she mated with an old dog. I know, because my cousins boxer is a full bred and it had only two pups and it was because it had mated with an old boxer.

Take your dog IMMEDIATELY to a GOOD vet. I had a female that had had three puppies. We thought that she should have more inside and called a vet. He saw her and said that she was big, but she should not have anymore inside. We trusted him and  two days later the female got bad, really bad. We took her to other vet and this new vet said that surely she had more puppies inside her. He  said that, considering the days passed, they were dead. He took an X-ray and then we could see that she had FIVE more puppies inside her. They tried to make a surgery to remove the bodies of these pupies. But, it was too late. After a few days of the surgery, my dear female died with generalized infection (sepsis). As the three puppies stayed without her mom, they didn't survived also. We tried to keep them warm and feed them, but they all died.
