Hello, I am a Labrador owner lover of many years, I have a 6 year old female (desexed), my 3rd Labrador.  I recently heard of an 8 month old male who needed a home, (was about to be 'dumped"), so took him in.  He is lovely, a huge bear of a puppy and has never had any training, he was fed well (I think) but was left in the backyard to be the good puppy, never been inside the house or in the car or even walked.  I have only had the darling boy for 2 days and he has changed so much, even learned to swim with my dog yesterday in a dam.  My concern is that I'm not sure how to stop him jumping on me or anyone else who is game enough to enter my backyard at the moment.  Any help would be really appreciated.  I try to ignore him when he jumps, try turning my back to him but he still does it and I might add when I least expect it and really winds me if he gets a 'run up'.  Thanks again if you can help, Trish

Trish;

Next time he jumps up on you, step on his back feet. At the same time, say "NO" or "DOWN" try this every time he does this. He will finally get the picture.
Sounds like he needs a lot of patience and training.  Keep up the good work.
