If you have your period, you are not pregnant!  The only exception to this is if your period isn't as long (or as much) as it is usually.  You can take a pregnancy test, but it will probably come up negative.

You shouldn't take a pregnancy test while your on your period! It IS possible to have your period and be pregnant! If there is any difference regarding your period (lighter, shorter then usual)wait till it ends and then take a pregnancy test!

the results will turn up wrong but you can have your period for 3 months or 6 months and still be pregnant the best thing to do is wait until your period is over and take the test a couple days after and in the morning those are the best results

I just wanted to respond to Liz's answer.  First of all, you can get your period for as many as three months (maybe even more) after you become pregnant.  It is rare, but varies from person to person.  Don't assume you are pregnant, but take proper precautions in caring for yourself, because you might have someone else's life in your hands.

sorry liz, but not true. there are conditions that can make you still have your period/bleed even if you are pregnant. one of those is endometriosis. i have a very good friend, who had her period every month, and started to get wierd stomach pains, she went to the doctor who told her she was six months pregnant, and the weird feeling was her baby kicking. she had endometriosis, and that is the reason she continued to bleed. i'mnot sure if you can take the pregnancy test while your on your period and the results will come out right, but i know that if you are pregnant  you can still bleed.

Thats wrong just because you come on your period does not mean that you aren't pregnant. A lot of women still have regular periods when they are pregnant. But if you take a pregnancy test while you are on your period the test can give you negative signs

no, liz, sorry but ur not right.  everybody is different, and i expect that u are no doctor.  i know tons of women who have had what seems like periods, light ones, like candi has mentioned throughout their pregnancy.  it is not a "period," but instead implantation bleeding.  which, by the way, is completely normal.  i do not know, however, whether bleeding will affect ur test results.

It is very common to bleed during pregnancy.  It is not considered a "period" but the bleeding is possible.  A home pregnancy test measures a hormone made by the placenta (hCG) and bleeding shouldn't affect the results.  That being said, pregnant woman don't always test positive with a home test.  Good Luck!

Just because you've come on your period, doesn't mean that you are not pregnant. I didn't stop having my period until I was 5mths...that's when I actually found out that I was indeed pregnant.
