Was the MAS*H mini-series started around the same time period as the conflict in Korea and designed to show the folks at home alittle bit of what war life looked like or was it centered around some other event.

The show was based on the Korean War, but the war lasted from 1950-1953, the TV show went from 1970-1981

MASH was a movie based on a book about Korea. It was made in the Viet Nam war era into a movie - and while it was based in KOREA, the director was actually doing a Viet Nam movie, and removed all references to KOREA. The final cut had the editor put in a reference to Korea right at the beginning of the movie. The show, was based on the movie, and was not made during the Korean Conflict.
