The best dog fighting matches I'd say would have to be same breed matches because they're pretty much equal in everything so it would be an even fight. I'm going to make this as simple as I can. This is jus how it is and there's nothing you can do about it. (All dogs are ranked as if they were GAME BRED) If the dogs are not game bred then the fights outcome can be unpredictable. Dogs that can fight... First Class - APBT - Tosa Inu Dogs that have little or no chance of beating the first class... Second Class - Dogo Argentino - American Bandogge - English Bull Terrier - American Staffordshire Terrier - American Bulldog - Presa Canario - Bully Kutta - Fila Brasileiro Dogs that have little or no chance of beating the second class... Third Class - Caucasian Ovtcharka - Neapolitan Mastiff - Spanish Bulldog - Cane Corso - Mallorquin Bulldog (Ca De Bou) - Gul Dong - Dogue De Bordeaux - Guatemalan Bull Terrier - Indian Bull Terrier - Staffordshire Bull Terrier And finally dogs that have no chance or little of beating the third class but can still hold their own... The fourth class - German Shepherd - Doberman - Rottweiler - Shar Pei - Alaskan Malamute - Bullmastiff - Wolf Hybrids - Chow Chow (yes, even the Chow Chow) - Most of the ovtcharkas - A few shepherds. - Akita Inu - Thai Ridgeback - Tibetan Mastiff, (and almost every other of mastiff origin that I didn't name, including the Boerboel and others) The Fourth Class can go on forever. It mainly consists of your most common, popular breeds that you think so highly of… Believe it or not, when it comes down to, pound for pound that's just how it is!

listen i know dogs ok i'vefought them i'vetrianed them i'vebreed them ok 3 dog breeds ok even though most everybody says pit bull nope wrong sure there good fighting dogs but do they listen when there fighting no you want a listener and a fighter #1 is english staffordshire bull terrier very smart strong dog ok #2 is pit bull has the will and strenth #3 chow chow smart strong ok theres your breeds now the match pit bull vs. doberman thats a fight i'veseen very interesting. chow vs. rott very fast fight alot of running. german shepard vs. english staffordshire bull terrier. ok if you haven't heard of a english staff look it up its like a mini pit bull but alot stronger jaw and its shorter but one hell of a fighter ok theres your dogs and your fights and i don't know you the person that keeps putting that bull sh!t list but listen up i don't care how you list a dog it don't matter you can train any and i mean any dog to fight i'vetrain poodles ok any dog can fight but its if the dogs got the mind of a killer. ok i'mdone if you don't believe anything i just wrote do it and find out l8r

Hi everyone . ok , i had a TOSA 2 years ago , there very painless , as if they have no skin sense , i had akita , there very good looking and they do use there brain when play fights , and i had a pitbull .. TOSAS are very strong , you could ride on them , and there very friendly , when raised to be companions , even friendly with dogs , and there playfull , but when it comes to food or challenging , everyones Dead .. Akitas are good for Show off , girls would gather to pet them , but let me tell you somthing , you really see what they were breed for , they do have self confidence , and there very very very good brave guard dogs .. pitbulls are very knotty , My TOSA was 210 LBs and the PIT was 2 months old , and he would always go to eat from the big guys dish , and always get beaten , but never learn , as if they have nurves just for making problems , i have seen pits with families that were told that its how you rais your dog it becomes , or the dog is the development of it enviorment , ok , its true , but you can never change a breed habet , you never can learn an alligator to be a rotriever , NO WAY , so when pit bulls see small animals or dogs , whatever the hands that raised them is , its most likley to start playing the end it with a fight , specially when challenged , cause they have self confidence and they dont like anyone to not respect them because of there size , so they try to show that were small but we can do big things .. the guy who made these dogs come to life , is a genius , not for the fight machine he made , but for how he built the perfect tool for a certain use .. anyways i dont fight dogs , and never did , atleast its not what i do , and now , i am having a new dog , a DOGUE DE BORDEAUX , i love their looks and luxury coats , and i like them cause their calm and agile when needed , they have the strongest jaws cause of the muzzles structure , and they have the biggest heads in the world of dogs , i beleive they are gifted for gaurding .. but fighting isnt only about jawz , its complicated , for how long i had pitbulls and tosas , and for how long i watched them play , i still cant understand why are they the fighting dogs , American bulldogs are really strong and very rough , dogues are like warships , and terriers have the best stamina i ever seen , you never can put them on their backs , unbeleivable .. so my rate is : Tosas and pitbulls and terriers , when raised to fight , or when companions and meet any other breeds that were raised just like them .. at the end , i would hope everyone here dosnt proove them selfs with their dogs , if your shy , ur dog will most likley grow to be shy , if your outgoing and muscular and look agressive , the dog will scan you .. ok , sorry for the long post , excuse my bad english , and have a nice day ..

Nope, you're all wrong! Well most of you. Someone said that the American Pit was the best fighting dog and I agree. I had a neighbor from the Phillipines and he had about 5 pitbulls and he would tell me that in the Phillipines dog fighting was big and that the pitbull was king, he said that the Tosa would lose most of the times it got pitted against the pit. He showed me pictures of Tosas on the ground and pitbulls on top. I did not see one picture of a Tosa winning a match. At the time I had curiousity about a Rottweiller fighting against a pitbull, because I was sure that the Rottweiller would whoop the pitbull, but he said, "no way, a match between a pitbull and a rottweiller, tosa, dogo or chow is not fair, the pitbull even though smaller has the upper hand no matter what."

Some of you people have no idea what you are talking about. Not trying to be rude but the bull terrier was not a dog breed for fighting. It was breed for looks . It is still a very strong breed capable of fighting and defeating most dogs though i would back a staffordshire bull terrier, Akita almost all the mastiffs Dogue De bordeaux. Also a boxer is definatly not one of the top fighting dogs. There was this News story in australian papers and tv a lady was playing with her boxer of the leash at a park A staffy appeared the two dogs went for each other the staffy quickly grabbed the the boxer and pinned it to the ground. I myself owned a staffy which got into a fight with a doberman . The dob crashed through our fence savagly bit my dog on the back leg Rocky quickly turned grabbed the Dob by the throat and pinned it i screamed at him and he let go . he had complete control he only just broke the skin on the dobe. Whick is a sign of true gameness . Though he did need stitches on his leg . It was the most impressive thing ive seen. The dob is a great personal protection dog. It would rather die then let its owners get into harm but its not one of the best dog on dog fighters. Breeds Like the Staffordshire bull terrier, Akita, Dog de bordeaux, APBT, Dogo Argentino, Tosa are all capable fighters there are many other yo cant reall but it down to three. By the way dog fighting in my opinion is evil. People should be locked up forever for frocing these poor dogs into this barbaric sport.

It appears two arguments are occuring. Dog fight encounters and pit fights. Dog fight encounters: two dogs that get into a fight which last no more than 5 minutes. In this case a larger more powerful breed will appear to have the advantage. The larger dog will dominate or win. However, a game bred fighter will excel in the pit. The fight could last 30 to 45 minutes. The medium sized dog (60lbs) has the advantage. So I think people with the bullmastiffs dogs and larger breeds may have a chance when dogs are not pit fought and the match does not exceed 5 minutes. The only dog that is large and appears to have gameness is the TOSA, but they fight those dogs differently, more like wrestiling.

The problem of telling what the 3 best fighting dogbreeds are is that dogfighting is illigal. And because it's illigal you can't set up a huge investigation by training and systematicly matching diffrent dog breeds in diffrent sexes ,traint in diffrent ways,game,gamebred and other factors that influence a fighting dog and a dog fight. so basicly you can't say much about what are the best 3 fighting dog breeds. The only thing that can be said is that this huge investigation will proberbly never be carried out. Anyway i THINK that the apbt and the tosa inu are the best fighting dogs because these dogs still have the talent for dogfighting instead of other dogbreeds that were used for dogfighting in the past (like the dogo canario,mallorquim bulldog,shar-pei,old english bulldog). anyone who disagree with me send an e-mail to 831211541@hasdb.nl

POUND FOR POUND THEIR IS NO BETTER FIGHTING DOG IN THE WORLD BETTER THAN THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER.THE ONLY THING THAT COMES CLOSE IS THE TOSA INU. YES PITS HAVE BEEN BEATEN AND ANY DOG CAN BE BEATEN ON THE RIGHT DAY. BUT IF YOU WANT TO COMPARE ROTTS AND DOBERMANS OR EVEN WOLVES YOU ARE COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES. PITS HAVE BEEN BRED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE TO KILL OPPOSING DOGS AND THAT IS ALL,NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. WOLVES RELY ON A PACK AND HAVE EVOLVED TO SURVIVE BY HUNTING DEER AND OTHER PREY NOT DOGS. Akita's R better fighters then Pit's Akita's R so underrated it's sicking. A good big bone 140lb Akita vs 65 lb red-nose would be a good match up. The Akita wins, I'll tell you why? first the Akita's neck is well protected with a thick layer of fur,loose skin,and thick layer of fat. With a whole lot of muscle. In basic words the Akita neck is built to withstand more damage. The second reason is Akita's are munch more flexible because they are not just dogs they have bear and cat in them. They clean themselves just like a cat everyday. They have cat like feet. I was a Pit bull fan and I still em. But I changed my ways. I had to learn the hard way. 10 Year's ago I had a 60'lb rednose male Pitbull."Duke" Duke was a fighting machine. A neighbor had in Akita,"Bear" this Akita was awesome,It walked like Lion but had a head of a bear. First time I saw this dog when he was full grown, what a impressive site. Back in my head I knew that Duke couldnt stand up to Bear. but I was in denial. Untill one day "Duke" broke loose from his fence chewing away the wooden slack on the door. Duke then must of approached the Akita who was on a chain inside fence.I don't know exactly what happened because nobody was around to actually to see. I was at work. But what I do know is when I got home Duke wasn't inside our fence. So I want thru the neighborhood looking for him. I want everywhere I called the animal patrol. I want to the local Dog Pounds. Finally a couple days later while stapling up a sign by a Telephone by the neighbors house who had the Akita. I stopped to look thru the fence to see Bear. I was devisted to see "Duke" lying on the ground and his body was being eaten by Bear. Yes he was being eaten literally. The owner's of the Akita want to a family funeral out of state.Instead of living bear at a Kennel they left him inside the fence on chain. So when "Duke" got loose he must of jumped over they're-fence"Duke" using blind furry must of charged "Bear" must put the smack down on Duke and the killed him and was eating him for a couple of days. Duke's back leg's were about ninety percent consumed. It was a gruesome sight after that I had to get In Akita. Comparing Akita's to Pit's it isn't close when you get the best of the best. If you take the average Pit bull and put it against the average Akita sure the Pit will be more scrappier, and probably win the fight, and will be more willing to want to get into fights. But if you take the best Pit bull and put him against the best the Akita, The Akita will win every time. They're are two kinds of Akita's The Japanese Akita's, and the American Big Bone Akita which most Akita's owner's don't even have.It has been crossbreed in with Tosa in,Mastiff,St. Bernard,and German Shepard. This Akita is like a giant Pit bull with alot more fur. This dog is a tenacious fighter with great strength & speed. They fight using every weapon or advantage in their arsenal. They can pin a dog to the ground under a few seconds. They can every throw some punches which they got because they have Bear and Feline in them. These Akitas they wont back down from any challenge they will fight to the death and. win. I have owned Pit bulls all my life and have read hundreds of books about them but when "Duke" was killed by "Bear" My whole world was shook up. I begin to search the globe for best fighting dog so I came across alot of breeds most of them just seem to be just water down Pitbulls. By rasing Pit's and Akitas together. Akitas when it come down to cruch time they will eat them for lunch time

Well, first of all i own 2 cane corso's1 male and 1 female the male weighs in at 90 pounds and the female at a whopping 155 lbs, the male is a lighter derivative of the breed but not to be thought of as small. He easily could take down a 160 pound american bulldog who he lived with for over 12 month period (who he had battled a few times without our consent!)The american Bulldog was also very violent with people who he knew unlike the cane who will protect it's owner till death. One thing i find funny is how these people seem interested in how which dog will beat what breed when it all depends on the fight in the dog not in the breed. As for dog fighting i think you should grow the @#ck up and try going against my dog, as in man vs dog, i'dlike to see someone try to walk in my house without my consent lol good luck!!! as for dogfights you know where i stand its stupid an destroysgood animals that otherwise would live long happy lives protecting your home and family.

First off let me set the record.. Many of you on this sight have no idea what you are talking about!!! Lets start by ranking. First understanding that their can be no GAME BRED dog out side of a GAME DOG!!! A true ( NOT STREET!!) Pit Bull Terrier is in a class of it's own..BOTTOM LINE. NOW, WITH IN that class do you begin to weed out the non game bred from the game bred!!! There is not another dog on the face of this earth that can do what a Pit Bull can do. 45 pound Pit Kills 160 Tosa... Look at UFC, and watch those little guy smash some of the big ones... size means NOTHING!!! Do you think that a Tosa at 160 pounds would kill a 320 pound dog if there was one? Game bred a simply a dog that won't quite unto death. eyes plucked out.. ears torn off.. guts hanging out etc... name me any other breed that has BALLS THAT SIZE. I have never seen a Tosa fight in person. I will bet you thousands that pound on pound one of my American Bulldogs would make short of any Tosa out there... 100 pounds on 100.. and so on.. I know of a 135 pound American Bull dog that moves like he's 80.. that would make short work of a Tosa 160 Pounds... Can your Tosa ride 1hr or longer? I know men in Georgia that have fought their American Bulldogs with Tosa.. and won.. I hear a Presa can take an american bulldog.. pound on pound .. I don't think so... My bro breeds the REAL AMERICAN PIT BULLS...GAME BRED..BELEVE YOU ME...THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT....NOTHING.. SO I SAY ..BEING THAT ALL THESE DOGS HAVE GUTS ENOUGH TO STAY IN A FIGHT.. YOU FIND CURRS IN EVERY BREED..THE LIST IS AS FOLLOWS.. TOP THREE (A GOOD) AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER AMERICAN BULLDOG PRESA TOSA BULL TERRIER I THINK THAT THE BULL TERRIER FROM ENGLAND WITH OUT THE GAME BRED OUT OF HIM WOULD BE SECOND... All of you have legitimate points, but i'vefought dogs in the southern region of the us for over 25 years now and have not ran across a more driven dog killer than the Cane Corso. there are myths about this breed and its origins but i tell you first hand after loosing numerous pits and a presa i have made the switch. there is no dog alive with the combination of strength, intelligence and prey-drive to match this fighter. my current champion has'ntlost in almost two years and is almost ready for retirement. i tell you, this dog not only overpowers dogs but has the wit and agility of a boxer and the strength of a molloser. they are literally surgeons and separate other dogs body parts ie... jaw removals and neck breaks. this is your champion.

well...first of all...i think in fighting it's not depend on the breed...even though yes, certain breeds like pitbull, tosa, mastiffs and akitas are famous for dog fighting...but it depends on the dog itself...yes, a wolf hybrid might has been crushed by a pitbull...but can u guarantee the same pitbull can take other or all wolf hybrids in this world...don't think so...same goes to tosa, fila or any other fighter dogs...and for your information a dog to the maximum weights only to 50 kg or maybe a little more...what great damage can a mere 50 kg done?? it's just baby-cub for those real beast like 150 kg lion or reaching 200 kg tiger... so end of it...dogs are not for fighting...they are not beast...they are human companion...they don't even deserve to be called fighter...every dogs have their own specialty and talent...and they are not certainly born to fight but to assist human

Ok people, I don't condone dog fighting but all the idiots that think APBT is not the top fighting dogs are people I'd like to bet with. Think about it. If they were'ntthe most capable dog in the ring do think people would bet thousands of dollars on them? As for the Wolf taking a APBT? That's a tough one. I agree with the statement that the wolf would take flight and the pit would probably kill it in a cage match. And I believe that the question should be rephrased. "What is the toughest dog in a cage match?" By far the APBT. Yet I'd like to see that ABPT bay an African Lion. Don't think so. It would be a snack. Answer to your question: APBT

To people that say that a Doberman would be destroyed by any Pit Bull: I have seen a Doberman defend its owner from a stray Pit Bull. A few years ago I was walking my dog, which is a Chocolate Lab, when I noticed a stray dog running around the park near my house. It approached me, and seemed friendly enough, and actually got along with my dog. I gave it a pat on the head and kept on walking. A minute or so later I walked by a guy walking his Doberman. Shortly after that I heard yelling, and the man with the Doberman was swatting at the Pit Bull, trying to get it to leave him alone. The Pit Bull ended up attacking the man, pulling on the man's arm. The Doberman entered this, initially jumping on the Pit Bull. The Pit Bull started fighting the Doberman, and the family Doberman ended up greatly getting the better of the domesticated Pit Bull, as the Pit Bull ran off pretty well injured (there were visible lacerations from a distance), and the Doberman only had a couple of bite marks on the back of its neck. The owner of the Doberman ended up going to the hospital and getting a massive amount of stitches in his arm, and the Pit Bull was eventually caught and euthanised.

very interesting question......i been associated with many a dog match.....and it is still a hard question...well size does matter in a plus and negative....a big dog can use that size to over power the smaller one but on the other hand the smaller maybe able to wind the larger one... pits dont have a very large incisors so they dont puncture like a wolf or similiar bite would...which can cause damamge to organs...but they have a intict to bite and hold once it gets a good grip... but as seen in the late 1800s and early 1900s when Colby and Tudor....were scratching their pits all over the states...a well breed and trained Pit will most likly bang out most dogs...now a old english staff against a pit would be something to see...some say they are oringinal stock or blood of todays APBT....I have never seen one in person and heard they are almost extinct because of the european ban on them....so if some one has one please post a pict and contact on this site... But really training and gameness is what matters...If he can fight and if he has the will to fight...so a game poodle can beat a cure Pit or what have you...But any dog man knows a pit is the dog of choice...but the only way to really tell is to let them scratch....everything else is just talk

i know that the tosa is the best and the powerfull dog in the hole world.and difenetly the APBT will lose in 6 min with a tosa.the - English Bull Terrier - American Staffordshire Terrier - American Bulldog should NOT be in the Second Class i my self have dobermann and he is 9 months old he has kick the bull terrier and the american staff that is why they should stay well away from the Second Class and the dobermann is the dog that is used in germany for attacking. dobermann is a very power full dog which is very vicious and will kill an human well my dobermann will do that i am 150% sure of this marc plz read some book's and talk plz. if it will be scared it will not be a guardog OK. so move them plz and APBT from the first class plz. 1.tosa 2.Dogo Argentino 3.Dogue De Bordeaux 4.Presa Canario 5.Bully Kutta 6.Fila Brasileiro 7.Neapolitan Mastiff 8.Doberman dont even say it 9. APBT

Hey guys am not here to lecture but if you all love your dogs why would let them get harmed in dog fights. I've had Dobermans in the past and have a Rottweiller now, but always try to avoid fights even with small dogs. Anyway back to wot one of u guys said, The thought of seeing a Boxer in the same list as Pit bulls is a joke, in my opinion a boxer would be hard pressed to take on a Giant Poodle. They are too small and far too weak and feable to even be considered. If you want to know about a breed that can take down a Tiger look up White Dog they are wild dogs, that hunt in packs and have been known to take down Tigers although they have left behind a few of their collegues bodies that were unsuccessful in the battle. But come on dogs taking on a TIGER now thats something right!!

it is apparent that most people here does not even know what they are talking about. imma have to disagree with the person who made up the so called list of top fighting dogs. yea the pitbull and the tosa are in the 1st class but u are forgetting one. the akita belongs in the first class also. not in the 4th. lets get one thing straight. i dont care what anyone says, the akita will hand the apbt its ass. i'veseen it with my own eyes, plus i had pitbull owners come up to me and say the akita will beat their pitbull, and i have heard other people say the same thing, including a fight between a 140lb akita against a pitbull. the akita killed the pitbull in the fight. another guy i ran into fights his pitbull and even he said he would not mess with the akita, he said he have seen akitas literally bite holes into other dogs. remember the akita was originally bred for bear hunting and later on used for fighting. they werent always as big. they got their size from, guess what the mighty tosa. the japanese have crossed the akita with the tosa to increase its fighting ability. the result was a dog of imposing size. thats one reason y the akita is a good fighter and here's one fight i can tell u about. some idiot sent his pitbull/bulldog cross to fight my akita. the dog is 117 lbs. my akita made him quit twice in the fight. the first time the dog quit, the guy seemed to have gotten mad so he sent the dog again, and after it was all over, my akita again made the dog quit. the akita gave him one good bite right on its side and the dog have had enough, i pulled my akita off when he then tried to mount the loser, a sign of dominance. and just a couple of months ago, another person i ran into a park was telling me of a fight he had seen b4 between a akita and a pitbull, he said the akita destroyed the pit. one of the pitbull eye's was hanging out of its socket. and both of the parents of my akita have beaten pitbulls. so i rest my case. y'all can have y'all opinions but i just told y'all facts. here is another fact. me and few friends we train dogs our spare time. its mostly pitbulls in the group all though we have a bull terrier in the group and i just gotten a fila. and sometimes we work out with this guy who has 4 cane corsos. one of the hardest biters is my friend's 85 lb pitbull. he probably heavier now, but anyway when he hits the arm, he hits it hard. when my akita hits the arm when he is really mad, he actually bit the arm harder then any of the pitbulls i worked with. so here is my unoffical list of the top fighting breeds/ 1) tosa 2) akita 3) presa canario 4) abpt ( sorry, the abpt can be beaten) 5) american bulldog 6) dogo argentino 7) american staff 8) german shepherd ( i knew one that beaten a wolf in protecting its owner, he could beat most pits i know) 9)fila basilerio 10) cane corso ( i'veheard some good things bout them too.) so take it however y'all wanna take it, the tosa and the akita will hand a pitbull its ass. period. not to sure bout the akita vs a tosa. i'veonly heard of one fight between a 125 lb akita vs a 128 lb tosa with the tosa killing the akita but it died 2 days later. the akita put up a fight. but thas only one example. need more b4 i can make a judgement. but i'veheard of many akita/apbt confrontations with the akita winning all but one.

Honestly the the top 2 fighting dogs in the world would be either a Tosa Inu which was distinctivly designed to be dog agressive and fighting with a lot of stamina, but the APBT also has some of the same traits but differs in size. When the apbt was pitted against the tosa at a japanese grand chapion tournament the tosa almost always won 7 out of 10 matches came out with the tosa winnning. And there actually is another fighting breed arising not on genetics but trained in its own league, this dog is the Rottweiler, most do not beleive this breed to be a fighting but with search on the net you will stumble across the league, and the rott can actually put up a good fight when well trained due to size strenght and natural agressivness.

Iwe seen a fight between two males of Dogo argentino and a fully grown rott. These guys wanted to test their dogs, but the outcome was not TO funny. Their size was about equal and the fight started the same.Soon the Dogo got moore intense and powerful. the rott was grabbed by the side of the neck and the Dogo just wouldnt let go, that dog was furious. The owners was hitting and pulling him, trying to get him loose, make him stop, but for no use. The rott had given up long time ago and fight had gone out of hand, and the owner had no control what so ever. At last, Cold water solved the drama and the dogo finally let losse and were grabbed away by the backlegs. I think the scene was terrible and the rott lost much blood, and later had to be put away cause the event haunted him and made him unstabile. What comes to my mind is the damage a breed like this Dogo could cause a human been, not a funny thought. This event took place some 2 years ago. The guy owning the dogo thougt it was fun having a tough dog, today when he is more mature, the dog is as furious, causing him a lot of headake almost killing a german shepard when he was confronted round a corner with a loose leache. That aint funny, sorry for my bad spelling, this event just came to mind while u appears to enjoy this, SICK.

Hi, I want to set the record straight, there is no good dog matches, but if you want the truth about the toughest dog here it is. The timber wolf would not win very many matches head on they are to smart to fight. They will not risk hurting themselves over a victory fight, they will walk away they are pack hunters they need the pack. The best domestic fighting dog would have to be as follows in order toughest to weakest: 1 - APBT 2 - dogo 3 - tosa 4 - american bulldog 5 - filas 6 - amstaff 7 - american bandogge 10 - english bull terrier 11 - douge de bordeaux Those are the top 11 dog breed most likely to be the toughest, strongest fighting dogs. Mind you any dog could get beat at anytime by a third rank breed.

Are you all 18 year old children? who the hell would be so cruel to put a wolf or any wild dog in a pit with a pitbull. Of course the wild animal would flee they only fight for food or teritory if they have a chance. It is common knowlage among professional dogmen from around the world that the APBT is the only dog for the pit ( if there was something better they would use it)except with the exception being the Tosa in Japan & that is only because of there strange rules but the pitbull is stating to take over there as well. It is even known within law enforcement that the pitbull is the only dog used by the guys that know what they are doing .and they are not interested in street corner thugs fighting there CUR breeds yes that is what real dogmen call your dogs because they ARE NOT fighting breeds.The police will just report you to Animal welfare because it is obvious you do not know what you are doing & have NO connection to the guys they are really after.. well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion ,but lets not leave out the american bulldog.I have 2yr old 125lb male.I also had an 75lb pit that has taken out every oponent that has ever crossed him.Well, if you noticed I said I had a 75lb pit.One day my pit bull decided that he wanted to commit suicide.So he broke out of his pen and challenge old ROCKY(the bulldog)by the time I heard all the commotion I ran outside, I was a bit too late.That american bulldog was finishing him off.He had killed my 3yr old game bred pit in less than 10 minutes.It is amazing to see the power and agility of an american bulldog.A pitbull does not stand a chance with my bulldog, he would'ntbe able to withstand the damage for the first 5 minutes.American bulldogs are definately the ultimate all around breed.

I've got a boxer.. I'm not claiming that a boxer is the #1 Fighting dog.. as i don't use my dog for fighting. I just know that the Boxer's musculatur is teriffic, and very special compared to other dogs. And the wide and powerfull jawline made to hold the prayer in a tight cuff. F*ck all of that i guess you all know more about dogs than i Do.. i just wanna say that my dog was attacked by an Rottweiler when i was walking it in the park.. the Rottweiler just snoosed around.. and suddently it bit my dog in the neck,.. and dragged it around.. Somehow my dog managed to get back on its feet while being held down. And it just went directly to the ROtts throat. And as soon as the rott started to barff, and "Beg" for my dog to stop it released it touch. And the rott ran away. I was really amazed.. about how clever my boxer was.. - Quote my dog has NO SIGNS of violence either way.

I've been reading these old post and decided to comment. I read alot of my dog could beat your dog and things like that here. But let us realize that most of these dog fights discussed here are experiences of peoples pets. House pets and fighting dogs are two different things. Having been involed in dog fighting I would have to say if I had to rank a breed of dog The APBT would clearly be my first choice. I've seen these dogs in action they have a reputation for a reason. Another dog I would give respect to is the tosa a tosa with ranks such as ozeki or yokozuna in japan could kill an average APBT fighter. But If I had to choose between the two breeds champion vs. champion I'd have to go with the pit but the weight of the tosa would be a major concern for me. Another dog not mention as much here is the korean jingo dog this is a very aggressive dog given time with this dog I guarentee you the pit would get a fight coming to him. the Presa Canario these dogs mauled a lady in california can be a vicious fighter but falls short of the pit and tosa and some others. Don't bother with the american bulldog this dog can be vicious but they give up to easy. Filas are good guard dogs. Akitas aggressive dog but who would want to fight him against a fighting pit? forget it Dogue de Bordeaux why? he better be at the top of his fighting game and on steriods lol to stand a chance agaisnt a pit or tosa. the dogo same as the bordeaux. These are my opinions about it and people can disagree with me but the pit is ranked 1 in my book on top fightin breeds from my experience in the game.

everyone is allowed their own opion but please dont go to the effort of a lengthly reply if you dont really know what your saying. This is a shot at the people who just have not exp real dog fights. First the question asked was what is the top 3 fight dogs that in it self can be confusing do you mean the top 3 preferred dogs or is there 3 dogs that beat all else, cause the latter statement is impossible to say. There definitely are preffered dogs by certain fight trainers etc but to able to say there is 4 classes is rubbish my bothers pit has flogged rotties then got rolled by dogs not even on your list, my akita rolled a english bulli as if it were nothing. Breed has alot to do with it but so does gameness. in japan they use alot of tosa or apbt but then in mexico you will find alot of x or a large range of all breeds, USA I have read alot about different breeds making comebacks for a while there, there was a pref for rotties or presa's....I have seen mental rotties roll apbt and akitas, I would never say that one breed will always beat another. Come game day a game dog will break a week willed one within seconds with its charge or pure will. If you have a dog as a pet he may be tough but I have had pro trainers tell me that once you turn them into a pet they begin to lose gameness, hard dogs are trained hard always... so your original Q,what is the top 3 fight dogs? the one that so angry that he bleeds from the mouth before entering the fight, if you want a tough dog buy any on the list and train them hard if you want a hard fight dog go to mexico or somewhere like japan where their is alot of this going on and shop around but dont expect it to socialize with anyone or anything, cause it has only one thing on its mind!!!!!!!!!!!!! my thoughts based on what i have seen. remember if you want advice on dogs ask for replies form people who have seen or put dogs in fights and videos dont count......

after training dogs for police, military, and the fbi, i have had much contact with the above mentioned dogs in all aspects of the "dog fight" question. a 130-150 lb tosa or a 70-85 lb game bred apbt are the kings of the castle. a fila has the power to take on any and i mean any dog in the world but the tosa and apbt have the stamina and pain threshhold to over come a tosa. the american b.d and all other form of bulldog have immense power and drive to initiate the attack but run short in stamina. a ring fight or street fight are 2 separate ideas.... if any of these fighting dogs came into my yard with my kids out...my 92lb boxer would go into a mode i call "one time" he has one time to get this dog out of here or my kids are at risk..this is driven from bonding companionship and a love for people not hatred for other dogs. i gaurantee in his yard not one dog could take him because he already put his life on the table for "one time"

i have trained all kinds of dogs and fought all kinds of dogs. first, apbt is the godfather of all dogs, 2nd tosa, 3rd rottweiler, 4th dogo, 5th american staff, 6th doberman, 7th boxer, 8th german shepard. these dogs are too strong and they cant be beaten by any other dogs because i have bred and fought all of themm. i started breeding and fighting dogs when i was 18 now im 38 so i know. one other dog that is quite a fighter is an english but the thing about the english is that it is dumb and it cant last in the ring withe top 8 dogs. ive seen a pitt take on 3 englishes obiously it lost but it took more den 3 minutes and one of dem got killed and the other 2 were seriously injured and the pitt stilled lived. apbt r the godfather of all dogs.

u must have a sad life yall, i knopw more bout dogs than u all and ima gonna say, the most powerful pound by pound fighter is the pit bull terrier and the doberman pinscher, a doberman wasnt originally produced for fighting it was developed as an guard and attck dog, but it was bred from other fighting breeds and was developed for the only perpose of attacking and fighting and is indomitable in most cases, its just the fact and is why they are continuosly used in the dog world to portray the meanest and baddest of the dogs, dobermans are the fastest of the so called guard/fighting group, among the strongest, and there bite pressure and aggrestion is 2nd 2 none...its not to say they are not ever beten but im gonna say u underestimate the doberman and you are very wrong doing so!!!

Some of you all dont know Crap. You know I raise AmStaff, I have breed others as Well. Including Jack Russel. As for Dog Fight I dont Breed to fight. But I have seen some that just Happen. I saw a Jack Russel vs Pitbull and what it fight. Jack RUssel Won. Pit could never get a hold of that jack. I seen 1 chow kill 3 dobermans. Its not all about the weigh of the dog, just cause one has a bigger dog than another you think it has the advantage. I had a Mix CHow Timber WOlf and it whooped on every dog that came into my yard. Its all on the Will of the DOg. What training, Train a DOg to Think, and not just go in and Bite, and you see the diffrence. I seen my Amstaff beat fighting pits like nothing, and she is not breed to fight. Neighbors cant keep the dog in the yard. And it came over for a fight, and it got one. I seen Bull Mastiff eat pitbulls like nothing, and I have a friend who trains the DOgs for Police department out of dallas who has a King CHow, and It has killed 4 pitbulls 3 Rotwielers and 6 mutts like nothing.

after owning hunting dogs for the past 30 years and 3rd generation hunter, i wouldnt say that there would be any specific breeds that would be ranked in the highest end of the scale, cross breads maybe, remember the saying " not the dog in the fight, its the fight in the dog" it cant be truer. I have 3 dogs at the moment, a 73Kg Purebred bullmastiff ( just looks tough to keep unwanted visitors out ) and a bullarab/bullmastiff x ridgeback/dane. he looks like a throw back to a bullterrier x bluehealer and his son that has thrown back to ridgeback blood. My dogs havent ever been allowed to fight because of hunting, nothing worse than a dog getting hurt before it can do its job on a pig. but saying this, the bullmastiff was standing over my other dog, and inturn got the hiding of his life every day now, to the point where i either amputate his ears or shoot him, now this is a bull mastiff vs a cross bread giving away more than 35 kgs. my 2c worth, breeding crosses while not apealing t those that want a dog so they can say its a purebred, is the way to breed a fighting dog

Although some of the ranking shown by dis boy Isn't too bad, he obviously has no experience in dog fighting. In my opinion the best dog on dog fighter is the Spanish Alano - Alano Espanol. A very rare Spanish dog that is fighting extinction. Its Silent and very exciting to watch. It has an extremely deadly combination of stealth, power, speed, intelligence and durability. It has an exception scissor jaw and has the ability to turn off its pain receptors at will, this means that if the Spanish Alano likes, it doesn't feel pain for as long a period of time as it wishes. This is what makes it such an exciting fighter, because it doesn't let pain interfere with its fighting so a Spanish Alano fight is genuinely- the ultimate fight to the death.

1st Tosa 2nd Game bred Pit bull Terrier 3rd Canary dog The tosa'sfrom the finest fighting lines in Japan and Taiwan are without doubt the best fighting dogs in the word. A game bred pit bull is a destroyer but matches have occurred between GOOD FIGHTING tosa'sand pits and the tosa'shave won about 90% of the time. The fights between pits and tosa'sin the us involve game bred well seasoned pits against tosa'swhich are little more than family pets.and of course the pits win. The canary dogs are formidable fighters but i don't think they can match the staying power of the tosa'sor pits. The best matches are probably two tosa'sat about 90-100lbs, or two pits at about 40-50lbs. Akitas, dogo's staffs, canes, bully kuttas, american bulldogs, banddoggs, boxers, dogue de Bordeaux's, neos,fila'sca de bou's alano espanols, are all unique fighters and well able to handle themselves, but they would only last about 20mins max with a fighting tosa or pit from the best fighting lines. American bulldogs are ferocious for about 15mins and then quickly lose interest. In a match with a pit bull, the American bulldog punished the pit for about 15mins and gave up when the pit finally started to fight back. In a match with a tosa, the american bulldog jumped out of the ring to avoid further slaughter. In a Match with a tosa and dogue de Bordeaux the two meet head on and the dogue was knocked out cold. I now what im on about iv bred dangerous dogs not for fighting but because there great dogs. I rescued a fighting champion 1/2 staff 1/2 pit bull, one of the most loyal and gentle dogs you will ever find, but show him another dog and you'll have a massacre on your hands. Ive owned rotts, pits, staffs, bul mastiffs,American bulldogs and akitas.I currently own the best breed in the world The BOXER.

Hey all, it seems that we've all forgotten one thing. There are only two dogs that were created for destroying other dogs. APBT, and Tosas. That alone makes a seasoned, game pit better than any other seasoned game dog of any breed. Many of you are just in a battle with your two cents and everyone is entitled to that. But let's not lose site of the fact that in many dog fights, some dogs have more experience than others, and sometimes some dogs don't want to really fight. Look people, As far as wild animals, such as wolves, badgers, or big cats of similar size are concerned, a well trained fighting dog will win when pit against them 90% of the time. A wolf bites at 500lbs. per square inch while any of the "bull and terrier" breeds bite between 1,500 and 2,000 lbs. This exceeds even that of a full grown 500lb. male African lion who bites somewhere around 1,000 lbs. per square inch. An adult brown bear bites around 1,800 lbs. per square inch so no, the wolf's bite ability is by no means comparable. The "pit dogs" win most fights against animals of similar size because it's what whey have been specifically "built" or bred for. Alot of people on this site have made alot of comments that show their ignorance when it comes to the world of dogfighting which really makes and individual who has taken the time to educate himself on the subject since he was a young teenager whake his head at your ignorance. I own an English bull terrier and love them most of all, however I have great respect for the ability of every true bred "fighting dog" and would not begin to rate them. The most commonly used fighting dog nowadays is the APBT, american pitbull terrier. However, the majority of the bull and terrier mixes are some of the best fighting dogs the world has ever known, hence the use of them to this very day for such a rutheless pastime. The mix bulldog and terrier was a tried and true formula that made for the most game dogs, with the hardest bite and best stamina.And another thing, the best fighting dogs often weigh between 40 and 50lbs. The Tosa Inu is a large Japanese Mastiff and it is still legal to fight them in Japan, however the Japanese have changed the rules over the last 100 years or so. The fights now only consist of Tosa vs Tosa because many individuals from the states and Puerto Rico were importing their 50lb. APBT'sover and defeating Tosa'sweighing in at nearly 200lbs. on most occasions. The Japanese just got tired of losing money. The tosa although a very powerful dog does not fit into the same class as a lighter more game "bull and terrier" type fighting dog. Last but not least, dog fighting is illegal, barbaric, and cruel so get over it...and move on!

To many of those none intellectuals, just shut up, look in the mirror and stare into stupidity. Travel to Japan, go to your local library, or access the net, it will educate you on the origin of this powerful breed for killing only dog. Just to give you a hint of the dogs history you non-educated people, those lion shaped statues or pictures you see at the Chinese or Japanese shops/restaurants are really dogs from over 800 years ago. That's how long it's taken to create of consistent silent killers. I agree with the belief that if any killer breed has the heart and trained correctly than,YES, it can be a champion, but for consistency on that level of being NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD IS BY FAR THE JAPANESE TOSA INU Peace, my brothers.

OKay, first off, there is no way of telling which 'breed' of dog will win, it all depends on the individual dog. Practicly any dog can be a great fighter. I've seen a Jack russell terrier take down a (slightly younger)staffordshire bull terrier. However I am by no means saying the Jack russell terrier can take down any staff. But serisouly the breed of the dog has little to do with how great it can fight. Ofcourse there are breeds with stronger jaws like the APTB or the EBT (English bull terrier) but if a dog with a strong jaw is fighting against with a dog with more speed then the strengh of the jaw will no longer matter. The 10 top breeds of dogs (not in order) i would use to fight would be: 1. Fila (Brazillian mastiff) 2. American pitbull terrier 3. Rottweiler 4. Dogo argentino 5. American bulldog 6. Staff or Am staff (not much difrnce) 7. English bull terrier 8. Ca de bou 9. Boxer 10.Japanese toser And my top 5 fights would be: 1. English bull terrier VS Staff 2. APBT VS Fila (Brasillian mastiff) 3. Dogo argentino VS american bull dog 4. Boxer VS Rottweiler 5. Japanese toser VS Ca de bou Those I chose based on the breeds average size and weight and also the breeds own unique features and specialities.

There is no doubt that the Apbt is and Tosa Inu maybe the most game fighting dogs on a consistent basis. But the Presa Canario has to be among the elite fighting dogs also. Meaning that, if you find a good Presa Canario from a working line breeder, they will give the aforementioned dogs hell to pay. It just depends on the individual dog, so you can't make a blanket statement about which is the best fighting dog. The probabilities are just higher among the Apbt,Tosa, and Presa Canario breeds. I have close friends that have witnessed a Presa Canario destroy a very game Pitbull. Does that mean that all Presa Canarios would do the same thing, No. It just meant that, this particular Presa crushed a Pitbull. But on the other hand if a Pitbull could whether the storm of the Presa's tremendous bite, he may be able to wear the larger dog down is some cases. It just depends on the individual dogs. Every German Shephard is not a Schutzund quality working dog. Just like every Pit,Tosa, or Presa is not the fighting champion of the world.

I used to go to dogfights with my uncle, he had a mut that never lost, and didn't retire until he died at age 14. The American Staffordshire Terrier would have to rank in the top 3. It has strength, athleticism, and is a hard target. The Tosa Inu is the 2nd best fighter, as far as I've seen, they have a lot of muscle, weight around 150lbs. and would kill most any dog that wasn't game bred in like a second. The best fighting dog that I've seen is a German Boxer. German Boxers have strength, speed, size, and even tactics that's better than most dogs'. If a Pit tried to get under a German Boxer and bite it's neck(just like it would), the pit would just bite loose skin, and the Boxer would have thee chance to grab the Pit from above, and by the time the Pit knew that he was loosing, he'd be dead. My uncle's mut never fought a German Boxer, and I've never seen any dog compare to one either. So here's my list: 1st class -German Boxer 2nd class -Tosa Inu -American Staffordshire Terrier -English Bull Terrier -Pit Bull Terrier -Fila Brasileiro -Dogo Argentino -Cane Corso Mastiff -American Bulldog -Staffordshire Bull Terrier -Akita Inu 3rd class -Wolf-dogs(any breed mix) -German Shepard(German Bloodlines= bigger) -Boxer(non-German) -Bullmastiff -Mastiff -German Shepard(any Bloodline) -Vizsla(I've seen them mess some pretty big dogs) -Neapolitan Mastiff -Siberian Huskies 4th class -why even name 3rd rank fighters?

ive had 3 dogs in life n every1 has fought atleast 3 or 4 times. my first dog is a staffordshire or u can call amstaff, but my 2nd is a rottweiler and 3rd is a cross breed between a rottweiler and a german shepherd. my amstaff has won a fight at a public park against a APBT easily doberman and a boxer.my rottweiler has beaten a APBT boxer and staffordshire and easily a chow chow. my germanshepherd rottweiler cross breed has beaten a rednose pitt, doberman, and a american bull dog. my opinon from what ive seen a rottweiler will beat any dog. (not including a freaking timberwoft)the rottweiler has alot more muscle then a apbt alot larger (mass) it may be a little slower but the rottweiler can tackle down a apbt or any pittbull type any day ive seen mine do it. the 2nd would be a staffordshire oh and a staffordshire will beat a apbt easily, its alot larger more muscle and a stronger grip with its bite. and the germanshephard rottweiler has the strength of a rottweiler with the speed and brains of german shephard. the g.s. will never let go of its grip if it has been trained not to so dont tell me a german shepherd is not a fighting dog it can and will fight.

You guys are dolts ( Google it) Every dog is an individual. You place a Dogo against XX and the Dogo wins. You " heard" about a Dogo/Bully fight. Every dog is an individual. All of the above spoken dogs are hard, strong animals. A 35 lb pitt doesnt stand much of a chance against a catch dog 3 times its size. Yes.. an 80- 100 lb pitt, with the right heart, could be a monster. Could he whip his "attitude peer" in a fila, presa,Neo, American, Dogo, European Dane, etc ?? Who knows ? It depends on the individual animal. PERIOD ! One of the finest fighters and catchers I ever witnessed was a Harlequin Dane out of Italy. A short female (28- 30 inches) and about 135-140. She had an unbelievable pain tolerance and could just flat out fight....dog, hog, human.. she hit hard and bit for a hold that couldn't be broken. The norm ? Of couirse not ! But SHE was a force to be reckoned with.Smart , loving and territorial to the hilt. Hated other dogs. Joshua Kennels has an Ambull named Josh that catches bulls, hogs, humans and other dogs. He "works" a 200 plus acre cattle farm and is french ring trained. He runs hours on end behind horses or ATC's catching bulls, herding, and hunting hogs in 95 degree Florida heat. I'm quite sure he could " catch" Tyrone Washingtons badazz city dog of ANY breed and hold it down like a toy or kill it instantly, if necessary. With Josh, it's not so much the dog( a good part is) but the way he lives. If the Millers worked any breed like that it would be nearly as good or at least far superior to any dog that didnt ACTUALLY work.. So. In closing. You little boys go back to the Nintendo and keep the lap dogs out of the ranchers properties,northern sled dog users lots, or away from rural hunting camps, unless you'd prefer your dogs dead....ANY breed... Tough is tough.. Period.

I found this site by accident. The size of your gray matter explains your actions. My God! Did any of you finish the third grade? Never forget YOU ARE BEING WATCHED! A time will come when you are no longer protected by skulking in a basement hidden behind a computer. It is sad that you have to use dogs to do what you are too weak to do yourself. Even worse, you guys aren't even pros...you are common street fighters with disposable dogs. Here is an idea....tie some raw meat around your necks and jump in a pit with 5 or 6 of your starving fighting dogs and see which one eats you first! I guess that would be the winner. As far as rank...do a bite count. Whoever bites you the most can be ranked second and third. I think you will have to make several attempts to get accurate study data. I suggest gathering several of your friends with similar interests and study this question to death. So many will gain from this data...think of it as a humanitarian study. I have seen a Rottweiler destroy an American Pit Bull Terrier before. Many people seem to over look the Rottweiler breed. The Rottweiler is perhaps the most versatile dog breed ever. Just some of the Rottweilers talents include: tracking, herding, watchdogging, guarding, police work, carting, competitive obedience, and schutzhund. You can't give these robust dogs too much work or exercise; they thrive on it! Rottweilers nearly double the weight of a game APBT. Game bred APBT'susually weigh between 35-55 pounds. Where as the healthy weight for a male Rottweiler is 95-135 pounds. 135 IS a HEALTHY weight for a male Rottweiler don't let anyone tell you that is fat. Also one thing to note. The Rottweiler has the strongest bite force reading EVER recorded by ANY domestic dog EVER! Now i am not saying that the Rottweiler is the best fighting dog nor is it worthy of a top 5 selection HOWEVER a good Rottweiler should NEVER be overlooked and has the capability of taking out any breed of dog out there if they are determined enough. They are very big tough powerful dogs nearly immune to pain. They kill more dogs outside their breed each year than any other breed of dog! They are also used more in dogfights than ANY other non-fighting breed.

You people are pretty dumb. I have been fighting dogs for 23 years and I've seen all types of dogs. Any dog can have there day. I will tell you this though my brother works on retreiving wild wolfs and the way they break up the wolf pack is by sending a red nose pit (one mind you) to take on the leader. and 99 out of 100 times the red nose squishes the big bad wolf. I have been to many dog fights and held quite a bit of them my self., it mostly goes by weight but once in a while you fight other sizes. A pit is the ultimate fighter, second a tosa, third a ban-dogge (half pit, half mastiff). I have owned plenty of champs and I will tell you a 57 pound pit of mine was112 and o. beat over 5 tosas and 20 ban dogges and the rest mix and match. he is retired now but in his prime he was the Roy Jones junior of his prime. And Mr. Dobie let your dog in the ring with a seasoned pit and you can be sure to be dragging your dogs carcus out of the ring. Don't be stupid and let your dobie fight. They are great dogs and have a fighting spirit but that spirit is what gets them killed. I once new a man who said his rott. was a great fighter, never lost a fight. One day we put up $500 and my pit (Mr. 57 pounder) killed the rott in five minutes. I love putting pits up against rott and dobies because they are always stupid enough to get up and get hurt or killed. SO for all you stupid people who only seen a couple of fights you do not know what you are talking about. Pits first tosa'ssecond, and ban-dogges third. take it from a professional. P.S. Mr. doberman I am not sure your dog could take a well built lab. and as far as your dogs scrap with a pit? What are the top 3 fighting dogs ? And what would be the best dog fighting matches ? I grow up in the ghetto in West Dallas,Tx. Their was alot of dog fighting done there. My friends were into it because that was the way to make the money. I've seen many dog fights in my time and all types of dogs like... ABPTs,BTs, ST's Chows, Huskies, German Shepherds, Ar. Dogo, Canine Carsos,Rotts, Boxers, sheri peis, ect. And yes, I did plenty of research on all dogs, after all, I'm a Vet and graduated from A&M University. But to the uneducated person the most common mistake is that any pitbull related dog is the better fighter or that because the dog is bigger then it's automatically better. This is so false, the truth is the dogs with brains is the better fighter and the dog who is an old breed that hasn't been man made. so, in saying this, Dogs such as Perro de Toro,Doberman,Presa Canary,American Bulldog,Boxer, Ar. dogo,Bull Terrier,Rotts,Am. Staff,Staff, APBT,Bull Mastiffs and PBTs have no chance against The smarter breeds. But the best of the best are: 1. CHOW CHOWS: these dogs have brains, strength, and heart. The phrase "it isn't the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog" was made for this dog. They will find the dogs weak spot and plan an attack. They are also one in a few dogs the will pin their enemies before biting. Which comes for their relation to the Bear. They also will fight to the death and nothing will stop them. 2. HUSKIES... these dog are alot like their friend the Chow, because of their Arctic heritage. they are also Highly intelligence like Chows. 3. GERMAN SHEPHERD... like the breeds above , their fearless character cannot be matched. THE BEST MATCH UPS...... Well being a vet I Can't Be apart of that in any way, but reading my comments might help you. AND TO dog fighter, YOUR OPINION IS VERY CLOSE. It's so sad all the way through! What dog can kick what dog's ass. Last time I checked....I bought my Boxer as a pet. Is this the best we can do as pet owners to rave about whose dog can beat whose? Unfortunately, my Boxer at 4 years old killed an APBT. The terrier was 3 1/2 years old. I was at a dog park in an off leash area and the two were fighting over a stupid toy. My Boxer almost literally bit the terriers throat off. I AM NOT PROUD OF THIS AT ALL !! The fight was violent and the other owner and I could not intervene. The APBT died at the vets office. I paid for all the vet's services. It was nearly $1300. This could've easily went the other way. My dog might'vedied too. Just like in the human world.....bigger is not always beter. You just get in the first shot and it might be over very quickly. I don't care too much about what dog is bigger and better. I own a pet.

I will let all of you little kiddies bicker about which dog is the best fighter, but it matters not. You see, I live in rural Texas and despite the "illegality" of dog fighting, I am of the mind that cops cant stop what they cant see. So I have been breeding game bred pit bulls for over 30 years now and held over 1000 fights between my pits and any other breed you can name. There is no contest. AT ALL. Tosas are too slow. Dogos are too tall, putting that jugular within easy access. Dobermans are a joke. Same for Rotts.Boxers? HA! The only dog whose only purpose is to fight is the Pit Bull. And wolves? Anybody remember White Fang? Getting his ass kicked by a pit bull is the only thing that saved his ass. So all of you can quit bickering now, because the American Pit Bull Terrier is the ONLY dog that was developed for the sole purpose of ripping other dogs to shreds.And they do it VERY well.

OK, after reading all the retarded statements here I have come up with one simple conclusion: nobody knows what they are talking about! True the "pit bull" was bread to be fighting dogs, but that does not mean they are the "best" fighting dog in the world. It's really all relative. Personally (and this in a one off incident) I have an Alakan Malamute (115 lbs) and he recently tangled with a large male pit (close to 75 lbs). The fight was completely one sided as my Mal physically dominated the pit with sheer strength. The two dogs locked up, the pit fell backward and my Mal was on him before anyone knew what has happening. We broke it up before the pit had been hurt too badly. I've also witnessed a large Saint Bernard kill two pits at the same time and other Malamutes throughly dominate many breeds. In fact, I have NEVER seen an adult Malamute lose a fight to a non Malamute. I guess that would make them the best fighting dog, right?

ok first of all not many here know what they are talking about and get there info from sites that know just about the same as they do. I dont clame to know the most about dogs fight and how they will do matched against other breads but i do know this, The Game bread APBT "with papers to prove its fightign stock backround" would mop the floor with any dog in its class and take out the largr and slower dogs in most cases. now any dog can have a off day, but no other bread has gone over a 100 yrs of pure dog fighting as the game bread pit. so all the other so called fighting breads are way behind the Apbt. And the other pit bull type breads like the amstaff are not game bread so they would lack the fighting drive or intence willingness to fight till the bitter end. i know some breader friends of mine who are the some of the best breaders of game apbt in the world and they would not bread there dogs with any apbt that is not game bred let alone a amstaff or any other. there fore game bred pits pound for pound would win any dog fight and put on the best show lasting hours.

The APBT and Tosa are a bite above all other breeds of dogs. In fact there are only six real fighting breeds today. The above list also ranks the Akita at the bottom but the Akita is ranked as one of the six fighting dogs and is a fierce fighter that never gives up. Fact is, none of the other breeds can beat any of the six fighting dogs period. Mixed matches, yes even with wolves are just a sham and very one sided. Don't mix guarding instinct of those breeds that excel in that field with heart,technique and skill of any of the six fighting dogs. Those in the know, know the ranking of the list of six fighting dogs and the info provided in the ranking list on this thread is just way off beam.

it is all in the blood, pitbulls were bred to fight, allthough they dont have the bigest size, or jaw power, they are very percistant and never stop fighting (that's a good pitbull), the tosa-inu is stronger than the pitbull, because of its weight, but they havent been fought yet so we dont know, but i think a pitbull will win because it will destroy the tosa'sarms and chest. the aziat is a great fighting dog but only on its territory and it can kill a pitbull there, if the pitbull is light weighted (below 80 pounds). the best matches are: pitbull vs pitbull tosa vs tosa aziat vs aziat we should see each breed on its own scale and to whoever said that the boxer is strong, he's dead wrong cuz a boxer is not even close to be a fighting dog. in the end, i challenge anybody to defeat my pitbull right here in lebanon \

the top 3 fighting dogs are 1. the english staffordshire bull terrier because of its amazing stamina and the speed it can swing its neck to cause more damage to any other dog and it used to be used for fighting dogs and animals of all different sizes and the main thing about staffies is that theyre fearless. 2. the rottweiler because of its jaw strength and bodily muscles which make it harder for other dogs to bite it. 3. the fila mastiff because of its size and power and the fact that they were used to hunt jaguar. the best dog fight matches would be staffy vs rottweiler fila vs tosa akita vs shikoku staffy vs pitbull but the best dog fight of all would be staffy vs fila

Macker, stop embarrasing urself. I dont belive u seen much, honestly, just wanna give the dogo a bad name in a place where it dont fits just cause of its looks that resembles to a giant pit, but a dogo differs alot from a pit. If you go for dogfighting, go for the game breed lines of tosa inu and the pitts. If you want a pp dog go for GS or a mallanois. If you want a hogdog, finding catching and holding, then i go for the dogo as the first choice. If you want a short range hog catchdog, ill go for a AB working lines or a good pit even tough the dogo are as good but has a nose and therfore a huntingdog with finding, winding prey abilities. not just a short range dog that you release when the prey is in sight jam up and catch a hold of it. Most AB and pits are good at catching but not in finding, they lack nose. Others than that youll find better examples in almost any area in other breeds. The dogo is a huntingdog, traditional monteria criolla. It would be useless if it had all the strong dogfighting instincts as some of the breeds who made it, referring to the early english bulldog,boxer,douge de bordeaux, EBT and foremost the perro presa cordoba fighting dog. Many of the breeds who made the dogo at that time among them the EBT is almost unrecognizable comparing then and the standards today. To balance these traits the pointer and irish wolfhound for example was mixed in`, breeds that has minor interest in fighting amongst eachother or at all, but good preydrive and noses, very important traits for a hunting dog. Dogs that when released, focus the fight on THEMSELFES instead of the boar would be totally useless as u need to hunt with a pack of dogs when taking on a 200 kilo + boar. Thats why sometimes a gamebreed dog can be a disadvantage in this way of hunting, and therfore are not used so often. Yes, the dogo can fight and will in some cases do so, same sex, teritory and food and so forth, but thats the case with most dominant breeeds including GS, Dobies, rotts, and even poudles. Thats a thing that occours in almost every breed, and goes with individuals. The dogo is by those who now the breed known for not being the part to start the fight among two dogs, even tough it clearly in same sexes case will try to dominance the scene. A gamebreed dog such as a gamebreed pit will behave clearly different. will see a upcoming fight as play, wagging its tail, fun and clearly provoke and start a fight,not to defend it self not by aggression but by lust. It has great eager to fight, it will do what it was made for naturally. Just as good dogo would, but not fighting a dog, just the boar. The dogo was made for big game hunting, secondly pp, even tough there are many better choises in that arena for several reasons. But the purpose with the dogo argentino has never been to create a new fighting dog, if that was the case the the now exstinct, and also the base of the dogo the fighting dog of cordoba would have been just fine. But shure the fighting dogs qualities are desireble traits in boarhunting, but with the dogo it is preserved but not with the tought of a another dog or for that case a human to be the target, only the boar. If you want a fighting dog, then u should go with the pitts and tosas who has dogfighting in mind when was made and will be the most sucessfull choise in thet arena. I hear all the hype on here and everyone thinking there dog is the best and what not. The only two fighting dogs existing now are the TOSA and the APBT. Now let me say this do you think Joe Montana can beat Michael Jordan in basketball? Obviously the answer is no, although they are both great in there respected sports. Same with dogs no other trained dogs are going to defeat a trained TOSA or APBT so there ends the arguement on any other gogs competing with either. Now the next question which one of these two breeds is the more dominant. First we have the pound for pound arguement. This arguement is hard to debate because a game TOSA and agame APBT are at two different weights. APBT 60-80 lbs best game weight. TOSA 140-160 best game weight. Now since a TOSA will never weigh as little as 60-80 lbs we have to argue a APBT at 140 lbs against a 140 lb TOSA as there are APBT'sthis size being bred. When entertaining this arguement you have to realize that a APBT at this size will have lost it's athletic edge against the TOSA because of it's muscle body weight ratio to bone structure formula. While the TOSA maintain'sit's athleticism as it was bred to carry such a weight and perform athletically. This give'sthe Tosa a huge advantage giving it the superior fighting ability. I will also provide a link to a site that show'sgame TOSA'sfighting. Although dog fighting is illegal in Australia you cant stop a dog attacking another dog walking down the street or just jumping your back fence and getting into trouble. I am a breeder of Rhodesian Ridge backs. I may be a little bias but when it came down to the crunch it would be which dog has a more dominant attitude and a desire to hold the territory. Dogs don't fight due to hate like Humans! This is not a muscle contest or about dog smarts. I have 5 Ridge backs which are in a pack situation from top dog to bottom dog (2 males, 3 females). Although Neema (4yo Female) runs the pack Khazi (6yo) is the muscle and joint protector. Any dog of your dogs would be taken down crossing into my large back yard. There are too many aspects to think about to answer this question. On neutral territory i guess it would come down to the fighting spirit of the dog and the will to survive. All you American pitbull hero's talk it up your breed is a threat to the human race, a dog is a mans best friend except when a pitbull

listen, all these dogs are very tuff and aggressive dogs... and im sure you have seen a pit get its ass beat down by another breed... but the fact is.. is that a pitbull is the best fighting dog out there when thats what there being breed for and trained to do.. if you have a pit thats raised to be a family dog or just a companion.. then chances are that pit would be lacking the killer instinct the a trained fighting pitbull has.. now that does not mean that another breed couldnt beat a pit.. but the truth is that an apbt is by far the more dominant breed in terms of fighting.. why else would that have been the choice of dog for fighting when it was so popular back in the day?

Okay to answer this question is easy. It is assumed that pitbulls, APBT, Tosa, Mastiff, Wolf mixes would win most fights. But in all honesty a Borzoi would tear each and every one of the dogs / wolfes mentioned apart. It was bred for killing wolf in my home land my dogs took down bears, I had fought my Borzoi against many breeds Tosa was a great contender lasted 1minute before the owner asked to break up the fight, Doberman 30seconds, but aside from these joke fights it had one serious fight that almost came close to ending its career was a cropped fila / dane mix this fight lasted 12 minutes and the file / dane almost beat my pure bred borzoi but at the end the borzoi just bit threw the muts neck and as always came out victorious. And as far as the top 3 dog fights. Fila Vs Tosa Borzoi Vs Borzoi Karelian Bear Dog vS Perro de Presa Canario Those would be the best fights. I also put an offer to any one thinking that there is a dog out there that can beat the borzoi if you are sure of it i give you a challenge my borzoi will face any dog to the death or until you call it quits, and if my dog loses i pay $25,000 cash.

Trying to find the best finding dog is not really possible. Think, I’m crazy let me explain short sweet and to the point. Let’s say you THINK you have found the best fighting dog out there. You fight the best dogs in the world. Now you may think since you have fought unbelievable opponents you’re the best but somewhere out in this cold harsh world will be a dog that can whip yours. It’s like saying a big strong black person is a better fighter then a small smart, quick Asian. Or that a good sized well trained White person is better then a well rounded motivated Arabic. It’s impossible to tell. One might be bigger, stronger, smarter, more trained, or even more motivated. One day the black person might defeat the White and Arabic person. Then the next day the Asian Will beat them all. Now these traits may be very helpful but they don’t guarantee victory. You could do the most research possible and have the most equipped dog to fight and it will lose to someone or something else. Now, I’m not here to knock the small APBT, or the huge mastiffs, or anything in between. But there will always be good fighting dogs out there. But if you want my opinion I’m sure APBT do win a lot but that doesn’t mean the best. I’m sure if a 150 pound mastiff were to fall on a 30 pound APBT that it would do some damage. But I would have to say the most fit fighting dog would be a (WILD) White Wove because fighting is what it does everyday to survive they have (Size, quickness, strength, smarts) (Now this doesn’t guarantee any thing but is good to have). I mean if you think about it the White Wolves fight with tigers to live (Have a average life span of 12 years in wild) (Not Bad) so they are at least pretty decent at fighting if you feel my groove. But if you don’t consider White Wolves a dog then a White Wove Hybrid because they have all the traits mentioned above then what ever the other dog has. Many say that wolves run away scared. Yes, this is true the wolf may run away so it doesn’t have to fight. But if pushed and threatened with its territory it would fight with all it has. And that the most important element is will power. “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog” Some Agree with it more then others. So mock and make fun all you want but that’s what it comes down to there will always be a stronger dog.

Listen guys. The pitbull was bred for fighting. Wow everyone knows that. Now when you look at the rules of dog fighting the pit out classed all other because of it's ability out work other dog, his powerful jaws, raw determination, and last of all as well most importantly; The pitbulls ability to endure pain. You see I've seen my share of dog fights as well, and if there's one thing I've noticed is that the more your dog weigh the less chance he have at wining. See back in the day dog fighting wasn't used to see which dog would kill the other as quick as possible. It was about gameness. That called for serious stamina. I've seen a few times when a well trained rott, mastiff, and american bull dog, would be getting the best of a pit, but when you pull them apart the pitbull would constantly cross the scratch line to continue fight where as the other dogs would just turn around and look at the handler when released. At that point the fight is over. That's like a boxer refuseing to leave his corner after around. My point is that there are many of breeds out there that are capable of inflicting alot of damage. However the pitbull was developed for on purpose to fight, and it's ability to endure more pain than other breeds (on average) gives it the advantage. As for wolfs. I've actually read a few articles about this. One may have been by richard straton (if you don't know who this guy is you really shouldn't be talking about fighting dogs). Come to find out that the pits won the fights. Obvisouly the rules where diffrent that the wolf was a wild animal so it couldn't be handled: So they pretty much let them fight to the death, or until one just pretty much gave up. I remember it saying something of the sort; The wolf would without a doubt win If you released the two in a huge farm, field, etc, but when you confined them to the pit it evens the match or gives a slight advantage to the pit. Especially if the pit have been fought several times b-4. The article said to remember that the wolf is use to hunting in packs very very rarley does a wolf travel alone, and that most of the animals wolfs take on don't have the ability to inflict raw visious pain from the mouth, so when the wolfs relized they were in a all out fight for there lives. They fought in a way where they wasn't fighting to win just to survive. The way they decided that the pit had won was mainly the normal rules in regards to stly, techique, agression, etc, but when they rope the pit bull away; the wolf did not charge him. He actullay pased back in forth. Were as the pitbull was scrathing, sqirming, and crying trying to get back into the fight. The wolf was released, and the pit didn't fight ever again (on record) Looking at the marks they didn't understand how he kept going (the ability to endure pain). However the dog was labeled a stud and never fought again. Sorry if I took to long but I thought share that. If you pick up any books from richard straton, or persribe to the pitbull gazette they will tell you like it is. The gazette actully shows family trees from past champions to current kennels. Needles to say if you choose to purchase one of those you better sit aside about $2500. Well I hope I sheded some light on the conversation, and for what it's worth I'm not a lyer I like to speak of things to the best of my ability. My three would be the 1> Pitbull 2> Tosa 3> American Bulldogg Because of its athletisism P.S. Just because your dog is visious to humans doesn't mean he would win in the pit/ring. trust me I've seen it.

JOCKO , during his final match , cut off his right paw to proven his gameness.and he never turn the dog loose..ive seen pits get both front legs broken in the 1st five minutes of a match ,then slide across the pit on their chest across the line for another hour to win the match.ive saw talented pits that has fought over 2 hours with even getting bitten..gamebreed pits fight for a different reason than other dogs..its because they love it...other dogs fight to dominate other dogs..if they cant dominate they quit or run off.no mixed breed dog can match the pitbull..not one !!! they wont last.. you have records of pitbulls fighting for almost 4 hours straight!!! thats unheard of in other breeds...i know people who swim there pits 2 hour or walk them everyday dragging a 12 to 15 pound chain up to 20 miles for 6 weeks..and pitbulls love it..no other dog will do that!!! so, they cant even get in shape to win

I’ve lived in both South Africa and Fairbanks Alaska serving as a game ranger, and during that time I have run across some tough dogs. In Africa, in the mid-nineties at Kruger National Park, they bred an experimental Bull Terrier (spuds dog) that rode with the rangers around the Big-Five reserve. They were brindle dogs of about 65 to 70 pounds. These dogs would fight any animal (not lions and elephants) in the reserve, including hyenas, leopards, and large male baboons. Did they ever lose?---you bet---but most of the time they won while protecting the ranger. Yes, they suffered terrible wounds, but the dogs were in love with battle, and usually made a full recovery. They were iron-dogs. The Boer had a saying “it’s not a good dog until it kills its first baboon.” Male baboons can weigh 60 to 70 pounds and they have huge three inch fangs. Brother---that’s a 20 minute fight that will live in your nightmares. It’s not a nice thing. They still use English Bull Terriers in Spain to grab bulls by the nose and bring them to their knees. A eyewitness said that he saw bulls actually running away from these dogs. In Alaska I knew a man who hated wolves. When I asked him why, he said because one had taken his best dog. He told me that he had a 90 pounds pit bull that had killed several dogs in the area, including one of his own (like Africa, dogs are very tough up there). He said the dog was the ultimate fighting dog, ripped with muscle. It was during winter when he spotted a wolf on the border of his property at the tree-line, and sent his pit bull after it, confident the wolf would run away or his dog would kill it. The wolf did not run. It waited. When the pit bull charged, the wolf killed it with three tremendous bites. The first crushed the shoulder, the second broke its spine in the middle of the back, and the third broke its neck. He said, “boom, boom, boom--dead.” The wolf began dragging his dog away, and got quite far before the owner caught up and chased it away. Only this--There is no dog on the face of the earth that can kill a North American Timber Wolf or Arctic Wolf. All of our dogs originate from the Asian Wolf--from the poodle to the Great Dane, over domestication for thousands of years. The North American Wolf has never been and never will be domesticated, and is truly the king of canines. For interest sake, though I never want to see it, I’ll rank the top five toughest dogs based on my experience. I have seen few dog fights in my life. I owned a Rottweiler/German Shepard/Akita mix Mother was shepard/akita and father pure rottweiler) for 14 years. I saw it take down a Pure german shepard (bigger than him) and nearly killed it before the fight was stopped. He also killed his father (rottweiler). Took down a mastiff and made it lay down on the ground and submit. It did the same to a boxer. Litteraly ass raped my Collie/german shepard mix. Fought 4 rottweilers from next door neighbors (got his ass handed to him BAAD, me and my gramps fixed all the holes and re-attached his ear) without yeilding.. the fight was stopped by the gardner/handy man and neighbors. He put his jaw ONCE around a chow chow and it got so scared it ran into the cannal (i lived on the bay) and actually ran it after it, they both almost died, and it also killed a whippet, a bunch of cats, possums, a parrot, and a rabbit. All that before he turned 8 years old.. Can someone please try to convince me why this mix is not the BEST fighting dog ever, because when that dog died, he left me with alot of stories to tell, and craving for some more.

I respect everyones judgement here but i am an expert in all arts of dog nature for example the top 3 fighting dogs would be in order 1.Tosa Inu 2.Pitbull 3.Rottweiler I am sure of this and i would love a debate but to education you the pitbull is a very very strong dog but is known as the stronges at because of the popularity of it. it is popular because it was small, easy to hide and would only cause about 30 bucks to feed and would make hundreds in profit. A Tosa Inu is a large Killer who is the most vicious breed but would never attack or harm its owner unlike a pitbull because it is raised not only to fight but to respect its owner. It is bred to fight silently and a dog could lose a fight just by barking. They are not as common because since they weigh over 200 lbs. they cost about $100+ to feed and would make less profit if not lose some. Dog fighting is entertaining to some but is used for an easy way to make money. Dog fighting is bad and illegal but there is no way to stop it besides extincting all breeds of dogs which would lead to fighting with other animals. animal fighting will never stop. A Rottweiler is lazy sleeper but is allways aware and alert. It is extremely brave and will fight to the death with not only dogs but any other threat. The only way to stop this breed when fighting is to kill it. It has high adrenalin and has very high pain tolerancy like a pitbull. there have been many cases when a bullmastiff has killed pitbulls. A pitbull does not have lock jaw, but has three times the size of muscle in its head then a regular dog. a dogs muscle in its jaw usually extends from around the chin to upper jaw but a pitbull starts at the same place and ends at the top of its head. A tosa also has an extended jaw muscle and is builed not fat but muscular.

It is commonly held that the only two real fighting dogs in the world are the American Pit Bull Terrier and the Japanese Tosa. I have heard it suggested that the ultra-rare Majorcan Presa (aka Ca de Bou) might also qualify. The Korean Jindo (looks like an Akita) is also reputed to be a very tough customer. Middle Asian Ovcharkas are also reported to be used for fighting in their homeland and may possess some talent. Mixed matches between Pit Bulls and Tosas have produced mixed results. In Japan, one informant states, the Tosas defeat the Pit Bulls about 90 percent of the time. In such matches in the United States, the Pit Bulls have, with few exceptions, been victorious. However, such encounters typically involve Pit Bulls that are seasoned fighting dogs pitted against Tosas that have been little more than house pets. Most Tosa breeders will have a story about how a dog from their bloodlines has killed or maimed a Pit Bull. It should be pointed out that there is a good deal of variation in the size and quality among both Tosas and Pit Bulls, the latter breed having suffered from the scourge of puppy mill breeding. In the case of a 140 pound Tosa of the finest East Japan fighting bloodlines against a 40 pound Pit Bull of indifferent breeding, I would have little doubt about the outcome. On the other hand, a seasoned, game bred, game tested Pit Bull should be able to hold his own against almost any Tosa.

ok,lots of you do know what you're talking about (some what)first let me give you all abit of my resume I've bred a-pits-t,boxers rottweiler, akitas staffs, dobs, gsd'smost of the doggo family, in case none of you are aware that's any dog with crosses of bulldog and mastiff in it's blood line including bbbd (bluebloodbulldog) I've also fought, I've done all of this for 22yrs I'm presently breeding bluenose pitbulls here's the real deal...if you take any dog out of his/her line for fighting you're not going to have a accurate or fair determination in competition fighting #1 pits doggo meaning any various of breed that was bred for fighting with the bulldog,bullterrier and mastiff groups,even boxers are all in what's call the "locking jaw" bloodline, to fight this dog with any breed that's not in this line will be totally insane #2 example: any pit vs german shepherd dog while the pit jaws is locked on the gsd body the gsd will try to bite the nearest part of of the pits body closest to his/her mouth in terms he will not be able to focus and can't escape the lock if by some miracle the gsd does and get a bite at that point the pit is offically in fight mode the gsd at this point is only focusing on two things #1 getting the hell out of there! #2 surviving! which at this point it's nearly impossible the pit is just getting started while the gsd is practically dead or severly injured NOT FAIR! if you're going to fight dogs keep it in the line pits with pits rotts with rotts gsd with german shepherd dog and you'll get a much more interesting competition, unless of course you're in the businsess of watching pits rip up non pit dogs remember! pits and bulldogs was once use for bullbaiting for those who aren't familiar that's an old sport in the early 1900's when pitbull terrier or bulldog would rip a bull apart! that's right a BULL! and that's no BULL! so what do you expect to happen with a non pitbull dog!:)

It doesn't seem as though any of you know what fighting is or where it came from. They do not fight pits against tosa's or fila's againts dogoe's or anything ells (with exception to the jackass crack dealer in your neighborhood that thinks he's got a fighting dog because of it's breed).you re compairing apples to oranges when you compare a pit to a dobie or a rot to a bullmastiff. Would you race a quarterhorse against a thouroughbread???? No and how would you decide the winner? Would you put a 100meter runner up against a 10k runner?? Thease dogs which you all seem to think are great fighters are great fighers (against their same breed/weight) they measure to the pound and sometimes to the half and quarter pound to ensure a good/fair fight. not for the dogs but for the spectators. they bread dogs to fight long fights because the people were tired of fights that were over in minutes (or seconds) especially when thousands of dollars were on the line. Just because a dog has "game" doesn't mean he will win a fight against a dog that doesn't, in fact in all probabilaty it will lose. They may have a killer instinct and endurance but it doesn't matter when you have a dog plant it in the ground within 5 seconds. I have spent My entire life around dogs of all breeds trianing for obediance, conformation and shutz-hund. There are many dogs that are not used for fighting in the pits because they don't fight each other long or well. however put them against others that will fight long and hard and they may win. For instance put two Bullmastiffs in the pit and you wouldn't have a fight for long, as these dogs are not fighters and will establish their dominance very quickly which will have one running or submitting soon after the start, not much fun for you sadists out there now is it??But if you put a pit against a bully it will lose, aside from the size and strength advantage they are still very fast, most of you (if not all) are not familliar with the breed, not only were they used to catch and hold the poacher but to kill his dog he had with him and do it very very fast, they don't fight ,they kill and the poachers used most often a dog that was either a cross form a dobie and german shepard or a dogo as those were the best dogs for hunting/coursing all types of prey animals. (they had to do it while the poacher was trying to kill it at the same time).To those of you who have seen a pit bull take down a bullmastiff you are full of BS. It is true Pound for pound a pit is probably the best fighting dog in the world.( DeLa Hoya is pound for pound a better boxer than hollyfield but put them in a ring together and your pound for pound bs goes down as fast as your pit gets pinned on it's back by its face)True there may be a fluke incedent where it may happen but not too likely (it's like saying a 120lb boxer would win against a 220lb blackbelt in jiu jitsu) one of them fights for a long drawn out 12 rounds that is fun (for some) to watch and bet on and the other usually gets it over much quicker. sure the pugilist may have much better endurance and tenacity or "game" and he may sometimes get a good or lucky shot in and win but nine out of ten times he will get planted and rendered useless very quickly. As I said erlier I've trained dogs my whole life (not very long to some) I have owned many dogs and still own many now. I belong to a few groups which i'll not mention here and am involved in conformation and shutz-hund with two of my dogs and have rescued, and still live with, three pits (all neuterd now) one is a monster 80 lb blue the other two are the smaller red, both about 50 lbs.. Although I didn't bring them all home at the same time they all do live well with each other and my other dogs as well,, not at first though.. when I brought my blue home to My bully he tried to be the daddy if you know what I mean and got pinned in half a second by his face I ofcourse had a good hold of my bully and faught him off the blue which, predictably, lunged again and was planted... again the third time he was planted in about 1/3 of a second and lost part of his nose and had two punctures in his skull along with one partially crushed upper vertabre. I took him in to the pet hospital and he is ok now after getting snipped and months of work with him and the others. as you could predict the outcome was pretty much the same with my others as with well, one any way (the other I had snipped and left him with a friend for around 4 months while I worked with him). I have two friends with intact pits as well and their dogs try the same with most dogs but stop very short of doing it to the bully (as most pits do).They do know their place and know it fast, any dog that live's long does form a hirarchy. Sorry for the tangent and life story but My point is that fighting dogs were bread to fight other dogs of the same breed and only dogs of the same breed. Pits fought pits and are only good for fighting if they fight other pits or dogs that aren't too much of a mis-match .so pleas stop trying to compare apples to oranges and or just plain b.s-ing.

ok do some reading most of u have no clue. mr dog fighter has a clue :) Around 1860, the Bull and Terrier breed split into two branches, the pure white Bull Terrier and the coloured forms that lived on for another seventy years in the dog fighting pits until they finally were recognized as a legitimate dog breed called the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. btw they all come from the same blood line Cousins, but not brothers. the a.p.b.t am\staff sbt English Bull Terrier all came from The now extinct breeds Old English Bulldog and Old English Terrier were crossed to form a new breed of dog called the Bull and Terrier ...Proto-Stafford manchester terrier blue paul terrier black n tan terrier now days them dogs are now gone but u can still see there form in the modern day pit bull ..eg the blue staff geting its color from the blue paul terrier.. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is the k9 gladiator king the apbt was made 2 be more bigger n bettter but i ant seen a apbt vs a sbt i would like 2 see it 1 day n i mean both dogs be game real wild pit bulls i just got a 10week old sbt pure breed his so cute but nasty little big thing goes 4 my feet n balls he sometimes just goes nuts 4 no reson at all ..any 1 else whos gota sbt let me know if its normal of him being a pup :)

no way i dont have a dog but im interested in them... in my local Park this guy said that his apbt would beat this dog which at the time, every1 thought was a white GSD... the fight was over in 2 mins flat and the apbt was almost dead seriously completly covered in his blood and could not walk... after the fight the owner of the white revealed his secret... his dog was a timber wolf/ GSD this thing was insane, it had an incredible jaw power and dodged everything the pittball sent his way... however the ULTIMATE fighter would be the hyena because pond for pound it has the most deadly jaw in the annimal kingdom. i dont no why you all think the apbt is tht gd ive seen quite a few been beaten in fights (not only against this wolf)ive actually seen 1 beaten by a english bull terrier...

My top of fighting dogs would be : - 1st class (no dogs sorry) > Hyena (up to 180 pounds and powerful jaws), the most powerful cousin of dogs > Wolf (powerful jaws, fast), but not like Hyena - 2nd class > TOSA INU (THE best fighting dog, wins 90% of fights vs APBT, there's an article about it in a fila brasileiro paper, use google to find it) > APTB (Can resist a Tosa for a few minutes but cannot handle a long fight because TOSA is simply the best fighting dog in the world... Some says that the APTB is smaller and can grab the TOSA by under, yes it's true, but it does not kill the TOSA, while the tosa response it to take the pitbull in its jaws and brakes it back or neck... Sorry for APTB lover's but he just can't take advantage on the TOSA, whose breed has been even more selected than APTB to fight). > Kanghal and cousins (such as Ovtcharkas...) : they can fight an APTB, but have no chance to win against a Tosa, cause only a TOSA can fight a Tosa. - 3rd class all others, including chihuhuas... lol

Anyone that says that the APBT isn't the best pound for pound fighter doesn't know anything about fighting dogs. Just because you seen a pit get crushed by another dog doesn't mean that is the norm for the breed. Not all pits are fighters as is nothing is 100 percent. But a game 60 pound APBT will beat any cur dog out there. Many ignorant people go out and buy a 150 dollar Pit from a Back Yard breeder and expect it to be good in the pit which it's not. These are the dogs that are loosing to Rotts,Presas,and any other cur dog. It is not the same when you put a game 50 pound APBT with a Tosa or Presa they will win everytime. Ungame Pit-bulls can loose to any breed especially if Stupid people get a cheap people-mean Pitbull and expect it to be a good Pit fighter.

That my friend is not true i am ten years old and i know every kind of dog there is,and i know what is the strongest dog it is and english mastiff! for its size and strength! second is anatolian shepherd it is a natural fighter and u guys probably don't even know about anatolian shepherd!!!! Third is a great dane for its size and a boxer stinks at fighting!my friend has one and all it does is bite your butt!!third is a rottweiler EVERYONE knows that!!!!!! And just because there is rumors about pitt bulls doesn't mean there strong! THEY ARE VERY SMALL!and people in miami aren't even aloud to have rottweilers they are so bad!!!!rottweilers can beat pit bulls easily so can the above!!!!fourth is a german shepherd it is VERY intelligent and muscular!!!!! Listen computer geeks who know nothing about fighting dogs. The top dogs are APBT, Tosa, American Bulldog, and Bandogs (usually 1/2 Neo and 1/2 Neo or Tosa). A great many tosas have beaten APBTs..... they were bred to save the face of Far Eastern dog fighters - and they bred until they reached a successful mix. But true that the Tosas are larger than their APBT opponent. The other side of the coin is that the APBT have also beaten tosas. Some American Bulldogs are punishing. And Bandogs are not always predictable in terms of performance....because they are mixed.... some mixes are awesome fighters.... some are just not! You kids mentioning boxers, dogos, dobermans....shut up!

most of you are idiots, a full sized tosa against a pitbull, the pitbull will get destroyed, considering the tosa is twice if not three times the size of a game bred pitbull, game pitbulls are say between 30-45lbs(the game ones, not those ghetto mutt's in street, growing upto 100+lbs lol). tosa usually range from 80lb+ upto 130lbs. so a 45lb pitbull vs a 130lb tosa hmmmmmmmmm who do you think would win. know if you face a 35lb pitbull against a 35lb tosa you know who will win. ptibulls have more gameness then tosa's where tosa'sare bred and fought, they aren't really aloud to go longer then x amount of minutes, while in america(back in the day and now) pit fights can go 2 hours+. i dont think a tosa would fight for 2 hours do you? so pound for pound the pitbull comes up trumps, share size and aggression within x amounts of minutes, tosa'scome up trumphs. do you idiots understand now? in america pitbulls are often pitt'dagainst each other on equal weight say 45 vs 45. while in japan tosa are fought on whatever sizes the dogs are maybe 80lbs vs 130lbs who know. in japan dogs are scored in x amount of time by jugdes, while in america, pitbulls fight until onw gives up or one can carry on because of its injuries. compare the photos below; http://www.southernbulldogs.com/files/cathyshape.jpg vs http://www.southernbulldogs.com/files/cathyshape.jpg see the size difference. dogs will win differently depending on the rules. america, last man standing/willing to fight japan, scored, best scored dog wins

most of you do not know your talkin about.......i hav a Rottweiler and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and i hav many friends wiv differents breeds such as APBT, Boxers, Staffs, American Staffs, American Bulldogs, Akitas, German Shephards, English Bullterriers. My Rotty is 1 and a half and i let him fight...hes a full bloodline but a runt. now my rotty has taken out a half pit half staff, a full red nose, about 3 staffs, a boxer, bull mastif, a doberman and a german shephard. I neva raised my rotty 2 fight its jus how he is, so i started lettin him. Boxers and German shepards cannot fight at all, dere jaw are nowhere as near as strong as a Rotty. my Rotty is VERY fast wen hes runnin and fightin, bull mastifs r far 2 slow, staff are nuffin at all, pits r over rated... i dnt let my ridgeback fight but she has had 2 fights. 1 wiv a staff, the staff run over 2 get her neck she jumped back n got the bak of his neck. and once wiv a anuva rottweiler went 2 attack her n she ripped half his face. but 2 b honest i dnt fink rottweilers can fight accept mine....im not bosting ive seen uva rottweilers fight but they fight different then my dog, my dog grew up with my cousins APBT which was older and used 2 teach it how 2 fight, my rottweiler fights like a pit but has got more weight plus he is very fast, maybe jus a lil bit slower den a pit wen hes fight but hes smart. if u hav any questions or disagree email me, smokeymullings558@hotmail.com

read these books and all learn something, the world of fighting dogs by Dr carl semencic and fighting dog breeds by Dr dieter fleig. know my top 10 fighting dogs, 1 : APBT 2 : Neapolitan mastiff 3 : Tosa 4 : American staffordshire terrier {as this is just a show version of a APBT } 5 : Bandog 6 : Fila Brasilerio 7 : Staffordshire Bull terrier 8 : Akita 9 : English bull terrier 10 : Shar pei all my selection are all purpose bread fighting dogs, i have not mentioned the Argentinian dogo or bullmastiff breads as these have other primary perposes like hunting pumas and guard work there gameness is in question. I will say this though the main purpose of the English bull terrier was a show dog but it did have some success in the pits, but the staffy proved dominant dont believe me look it up. pit bull number, 1 best against best.

OK, I was in Seward Alaska 8yrs ago. Drove up to visit my brother who had moved there for work; I had my pit bull with me, a very massive and intimidating male, which I saved from the pound. He had a wolf mix, but it looked like a pure wolf, and it stayed outside year round! He thinks he was mixed with a husky (came from a shelter). We introduced the dogs, and they got along fine, though there were occasional scary barking matches over water or territory, and then they'd quickly be over it. After returning from a fishing trip, I was helping my brother clean/cut fish when we heard a vicious sounding fight between the 2 break out. We both ran yelling for them to stop, but they were too far from us; the fight seemed to last forever. No shouting from us was able to break it up, and by the time we got there, we were horrified by the sight. Lots of blood everywhere, and the dogs were too wild and scary to approach. While my brother ran for a gun to shoot over their heads to break it up, I saw the wolf kill my dog, which was bigger and younger than the wolf. My dog was 3.5 yrs old and 66 lbs at time of death (even after all the blood drained); my brothers dog 60 lbs and 8 yrs old; they live to 6 or 7 in the wild! The pit bull made the most noise and was more aggressive, but the "wolf" was more agile and his strikes more precise and lethal. Like someone mentioned before, the pit bull is a dog for show, and the wolf is for serious business. The fight was over by the time my brother returned with a loaded gun, though my dog was still alive. He was bleeding profusely and large gashes of flesh from his neck face lips back and legs were missing. He was panting so hard and bleeding everywhere and looking at me like, ‘oh man, I shouldn't have gotten into that’, when he died. I guess he had a lot of adrenaline in him, because he was tore up bad, it's amazing he went on as long as he did. Looked like a lawnmower got to him. The wolf, although covered in blood, didn't appear to have any serious wounds, but upon closer inspection, and when we hosed him down, we saw that he too was cut and ripped in places; it’s just that the deep fur concealed it better. He slept a lot for the next 2 days but was up and running on the third day. 6 months later he disappeared, never to return. We figure he went to the woods to die, or got killed by other wolves or maybe hit by a car. One thing is for sure, you do not want to see a wolf or wolf mix, gnarling and angry, it's terrifying, and it can easily kill a pit bull.

ok i have watch a couple of dog fights in my day and the best dog would be a well train Boerboel if it was put on a strict diet my uncle has 1 of the best boerboels in the world and his 1 chased away a donkey in africa away from his farm these are this is the proper dog list 1st boerboel,rottweiler,irish wolfhound and a americanmustiff 2nd german shepard,rhodisean ridgeback,pitbull,staffi,staffi mix pitbull 3rd labrador mix rhodisean ridgeback and so on i now live in a hot country as a vertinarin and i own my own farm with 4 rottwielers 4 rottweiler mix german sherpard and 2 german sherpards 4 puppie pitbulls and 4 puppie Boerboels thank you for reading this good day to you all

I like it when this question comes up, and people say "APBT or TOssa rigt away. I'll give the Tossa is one tough dog. But, if we are talking, what dog would take out any and all other dogs, then I say do some more research. Presa Canario, Fila Brasliero, Dogo Argento, Dogue Brasliero and most of the East Indian/European Molosor breeds would come out on top. I think you would see the Dogo come out close to the top. Jaw strength of a Dogue de Bordeaux, size of a mastiff, agility of a boxer, brain of a Pointer, and gameness of a Fighting Dog Of Cordoba (the foundation breed, generally accepted to be a WAY better fighting dog then a APBT). But this is still just one of the many dogs that would be close to the top.....how ever I think the APBT and Tossa wouldnt be up there...PS: Interesting point about the Timber Wolf...I tend to agree that a large Adult male Timber would be more then a match for most domesticated dogs

Who was that dork that put Rottweiler in 4th class compared to a Pitbull in 1st class. That's ridiculous. It's all about the upbringing. I have a 130lb Rott(male) that eats nothing but bones and meat with some dog chow, and has grown to be bigger than any Rott i've ever seen...he's easily 1 meter in height(he might have some Mastiff, but looks pretty much purebred). I also have a 60-70lb Rednose Pit(purebred male) that has more muscle definition than a pro lifter and can jump to a muzzle height of that of a 5'8" human(he also eats nothing but bones and raw proteins). Unfortunately both of these dogs had to be raised in the worst of circumstances(I wasn't around enough, so my inlaws wouldn't just play fight, they would beat my dogs), especially the Rott(who is now so violent to other dogs he has to remain caged all day). One night, the Rott got out, and ran to my neighbors...my Rott is naturally passive towards people, just not to dogs. I brought him back to the house, but the idiot Pit always has to run out the door to see who's there. These 2 dogs paused for about 3 seconds to calculate, the odds I guess, and immediately the Pit grabbed the Rott's neck. The Pit had his neck for about 10 seconds before the Rott(having more neck skin) managed to stretch out and grab the whole skull of my Pit, and proceeded to puncture the Pit's left eye orbit and right temple; the Pit immediately let go and it went from trying to save the Rott to trying to save the Pit...Literally!!! I punched the Rott in the muzzle about 20 times until his nose bled and it didn't even phase him; so we leashed both and ripped the Pit out of the Rott's mouth. End result: Rott had a minor puncture to just his neck skin and the Pit ended up in a Vet Hospital for 3/4" punctures to his skull and heavy bleeding. Hopefully this never happens again, because this time we had about 6 people, including the neighbors, help break this up. If it were just me and my mother-in-law, there's no doubt, the Pit would have been killed. It's all about the "fight", size, and the way the dog is raised; not just genetics.

there's one dog that I have personally seen killed or almost killed... pits, (staffs and americans) rottweilers,blueblood bulldog, almost killed) a bull mastiff I've seen this dog literally ripped the upper snout completely off of a presa canario, the fight was stop because of accessive bleeding, that dog died 3 weeks later do to an infection that setup, I've seen this dog pent and bite a plug out of a boxer he died on the spot... IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! this dog is the true japanese AKITA not to be mistaken with the american akita it's like apples and oranges you will know immediately when you see one, they have extremely large bones a very massive head, big paws wide large and long backs thier necks are twice as thick as the rottweiler and due to their double coated fur it's nearly impossible for even the strongest jaws to get a good firm,clean bite,most dogs only find a mouth full of fur! I must say the japanese really knew what they were doing when they bred this dog! I personally was a pit,rott'andpresa fan until my friend showed me something... as he so adamantly said to me... "look T this is it,i'm taking you on a two week dog show down" this gray and black Akita gave me a whole different profound respect for those true killers! oh yeah almost forgot their also bone breakers!

uh u ppl are idiots 2nd answer makes the most sense to me, all dogs that are currently used for fighting are the best ( aptb and tosa) and dogs that were once used to be faught have the instinct but not as good as they once were and u should be talking about game bred dogs not inbred dogs u ppl have a non game bred pitbull will get killed by almost any other dog, and pitbulls know how to fight thats y they are so commonly used not because their strong, they have the strongest jaws agile so they move quick in a fight and go for the neck whereas other dogs (almost all of them xcept the ones that were used to fight or are faught now) try to make the other dog submit whereas fighting dogs try to inflict pain.

Wolf- by your name you are partial, but right all the way, a WILD Timber wolf would kill a pit quickly and most any other dog, with the exception of a dominate Akita, and even that would go the wolf's way most of the time. Doberman- I had a black lab that I used to hunt with, he chased down 2 Dobbies in their own yard and it was a bloddy mess nice try. I do not raise dogs for fighting, I have been to many fights though dog/cock. The best fight I ever saw was a ript blue about 100 lbs and another pit brindle grey 65-75 lbs. The blue killed the other smaller dog in about 7-8 mins. When he was done he picked up the other pit and dropped it at the owners feet very crafty strong and smart. I talked to the owner and ask if he would fight any dog with his blue, he said yes except a larger Akita, that had already beaten him. He said it took almost 6 months for the blue to heal from the gouge marks left by the Akita. So there is my top pick and who cares about 2ed and 3rd lol......

I mostly agree with the full listing above not because APBT'sare invincible but there is a much higher number of their members ready and willing to give it all they've got; and what they've got is alot!! One key point to keep in mind is body weight. APBT'scan fight and win against much larger and sometimes stronger dogs more often than not. The 2nd class is where I feel there have been some noteworthy omissions. Irish Terrier Airedale Kerry Blue These three are not as strong as most dogs listed but are more game than ANY!! even more game than APBT. this is where the APBT gets his gameness. APBT was basically a bulldog (for strength) mixed with Terriers (for speed, tenacity, and gameness). These terriers are so fast, so determined, and so game that they must rank high in the 2nd class.

I may not know everything about dogs but I saved up and bought my own american bulldog.after that a guy I knew(a reliable source) said he saw two dogs one a APBT the other an american bulldog get into a fight. the american bulldog killed the pitbull.So that just shows that a pitbull isn't the toughest dog, theres dogs out there that can put up just as good of a fight as a pitbull, its just if the dog has the will to fight and what breed it is.but im not saying that the american bulldog that killed the pitbull was stronger it just got lucky and won the fight.also for those of you who say your dobermans,rotweilers,and etc. can tear tear a pitbull to pieces are stupid even i know that the breeds was bred for guarding and not fighting. I've even heard stories from peaple who fight dogs, that some people bring in big well built rotweilers to fight and get killed as much as a 45lb. pitbull like i said it depends on the breed.

Have you ever heard of every dog has its day. you can all discuss which is the best fighting dog, but in the streets or in the park any dog can win a fight , I have seen a rottweiler kill a pitbull, but they were both domestic dogs, theres a big difference between a domestic dog and a dog that is trained to fight and fights on a regular basis.A real fighting dog will normally beat any untrained domestic animal. its like matching a proffessional boxer against a person from the street.Experience , fitness ect. pitbulls and tosa inus are strong dogs and are famous for being very game ( up for the fight) where as for example a bullmastiff is really strong and agile but would rather lose than get really hurt.But The bullmastiff is very famous for being very protective , if a pitbull tried to attack a bullmastiffs owner for example then his drive to protect would make him just as game as the most dangerous pitbull. There is no classification outside of the ring. You can say that the terriers and tosa inus are the best fighting dog breeds , but this does not mean they are the srongest or that they will beat any other breed outside of its normal environment.

Well I seen fights in person,American Staffordshire Terrier is a Bad Bad Dog, The American Pit Bull Dog cousin to the Terrier He's Bad to, But I owned A staffordshire I seen him with my own eyes whip two German Shepperds, At one time, each time he would turn his back as soon as the bigger Shepperd would bite his back that was it he grabbed his throat it was over, I seen him take down a great dane, HAD TO STAND ON HIS HIND LEGS, but he did it, He was Bad but not bad enough to take on a 3/4 ton truck. I also seen a fight where my dads army buddy's boxer went in the next door neighbors yard and faught a pit, They locked jaws and suprisingly the boxer ripped the pits jaw almost out, Cost my dads army buddy almost 1600 bucks. I owned a Pit, A terrier, now boxers, Pit was a little bigger in size than its cousin the staffordshire, I would have to give the fight to the terrier, he would not quit unless he died, we never trained our dogs to fight, just yard guard dogs, But I love my Boxers, smart fast loyal, and tough, neighbor has a German rottweiler came in my yard, 10 minutes at the most the rottweiler ran out. But a guy up the road he fights pits and swears by them, But his dogs , Their crazy.

I have seen alot of fights as well as off the cuff stupid dog owners walkin their dogs towards eachother with no idea of what is going to happen and let me tell you that i consistantly see smaller bull breeds mangled by wild breeds. Just the other day my cousin was bit by an iresponsible persons APBT and before he could blink his husky had it by the back of the neck, picked it up off of its feet and shook the life out of it. DEAD do you hear me... DEAD. It is true that bully's have a great threshhold for pain but wilder dogs just have that kill to survive instinct. However i am impressed with the bear baiting they are doing in the middle east with Kuta'sand Gul Dongs. Very impressive dogs.

Pit bull heaters across the globe, there is a reason for that, they are the best. Absolutly no dog pound for pound can last w/ a game bred APBT. Some cases a 200lb tosa would beat a 40lb pit, but 60-65lb forget about it. most people want to look at papers from the 13th century and say that is why there dogs are the best, pit bulls don't say any thing, they lead by example. Most cases, people try to do is breed a biger dog in hopes that it could kill a a profianel dog killing machine, much like a drunk at the bar thinks he could beat a full time master martisl artis, maybe bescuse they beatup a yellow belt in 1st grade. It is not imposible to beat a pit, but for every one dog that dose, there is 50 pits that would be happy to even the odds. Well, this is way old, but obviously a few ignorant people. I would never fight a dog now because I know how cruel it is now. When I was a teenager, I would fight my boxer, only because he was so Alpha. No lies here....He hated rawt'swith a passion. He fought 3 different ones, destroyed all of them very quickly, one was female. German Shepard fight, was the same situation, destroyed. First apbt, my boxer grabbed him and started shaking it by it's throat and pinned his head to the ground, until we could break it up. Second pit bull fight was with my cousins scary fight boxer won, however both ended up at the vet. Third pit tore his hind quarters open, didn't realize puppies were near by, he ran from her for some reason...probably because of puppies. My new boxer now, is a bit of a wuss though and would run from a Labrador if he wasn't protecting his family. It really depends on the dog and it's desire to be the Alpha/or is frustrated and unstable. A pit is the one of the most game dogs, and a wolf would not win the fight because it brain functions on preservation for the pack, and will not go to the end to not risk injury, where any game pit doesn't care about the risk...hence pit would win while wolf is trying to retreat.

I grew up in south west detroit.Were everyone has a pit,rott,or bullmastiff.I wanted something different and something that could hold his own against any attacker.I bought an Akita.Not an akita inu,an american Akita! He desroyed all comers. For the "american Akita" not to be in the top 2 is a discrace.Oviously,you know nothing about the akita.Read all the old school books about the Akita and his dog fighting skills.My dog,Wolfe,was undefeated. I never fought him for money.All of his fights were me walking him on a harness and chain and him being attacked by loose dogs.He is a legend of the neihborhood.unfortunately,he was shot and killed by the detroit police.It took 6 shots to kill him!

I live in Alaska and my pit bull took on a whole pack of wolves that were eating a dead caribou. He beat down all of them . First he took out the alpha male by grabbing him by the throat and shaking him until he started to cry . When all of the other wolves saw this they cured out and ran away . Hay this is something 2 years ago I got bloodhound puppy and a Rhodesian ridgeback puppy and I thought the bloodhound was a lover not a fighter but when she was 6 months old she got in a fight with a tosa and damn near killer it I was think what just happened when my ridgeback ran up and attacked the tosa I pulled her of got them in my car and left I was thinking that it must be just luck but then they stated killing coyotes when they got to be about 1 and now just 3 weeks ago I was at dad farm and next door is a dog breeder he breeds pit bulls and dogos and some of his dogs got out and attacked my dads 9 year old wolf mix I think it was 5 or 6 of them the bloodhound jumped right in and a big dogo got her by the neck but because of her baggy skin he slipped don under her and she bit don on his lag and broke It then went at a near by pit and got iton the back of the neck and held on til the dog passed out and then the ridgeback which ran around the fight cam in from behind a pit after 5 mints the dogs ran for home sep 4 the one dogo with the bad lag we called his owner to give him a ride

The American'Pit Bull Terrier , A.'P'.B.T. Having been breed for centuries for its ability to fight has aquirred fighting traits that make it the Elete fighting dog par non . Althogh the Tosa also was bred for fighting ,It has not been bred for fighting ,as long as the A.'P'.B.T.The Tosa does show traits that it can take alot of punishment and fatigue and still continue to want to have fighting contact I.E."Gameness" , but whene Pit against the pit bull , the Tosa will usually quit within the first fifteen min. and although the Tosa has been known to win before that .The A."P".B.T. also wins most of the fights that end before fifteen min is up .I believe most in part because although the Tosa does show a little gameness it does not show the deep gameness of the A."P".B.T.due to the fact that it was not bred for fighting as long as the A."P".B.T. has .Since the A."P".B.T. has been bred for fighting for so long and has such of a dominance of the fighting pit over other breeds I dont think it really matters who is 2nd 3rd or fourth .

For centurie'sThe A."P".B.T.was bred for fighting and has aquirred traits that help it deal with the trauma of fighting contact,I,E.Pain thresh hold ,through centurie'sof being bred for the pit.It has also aquirred fighting traits such as ,hard bite , strength,nimbleness,Intelligence and just a extremely tough exterior ,meaning its just plain hard to kill, but its the gameness trait that really seperates the A."P".B.T.from other breeds and thats the dogs enherited trait to continue to want to fight even though its been put under extreme punishment and fatigue.by its opponent. Although other dogs have been bred to fight such as tosa they usually quit within fifteen minutes , mostly in part because they were not bred for fighting as long as the A."P".B.T.and the gamness of the dog has not had time to develope ,true sometimes the tosa does win occasionaly ,as do other breeds , they are few and far inbetween, so it would be unfair to match a dog with no traits to allow it to withstand the trauma of being a fighting dog and the A.'P'.B.T.has such a dominant reign in the pit over other breeds its just not fair to the other breeds .SO it would be irrelevant to rate 2nd 3rd or 4th best fighting dogs for it would be a unfair fight in all aspects .

German Sheperds, Rottweilers and Doberman Pinschers are guard dogs. They are not genetically engineered to fight. Most dogs are willing to go into a fight but a true fighting dog is always willing to stay in the fight. These breeds are only guard dogs. I have an Akita that I did not get for fighting. He has had fights with Pits, Rots and a number of other large breeds of dogs. He never got injured. Yeah he is big but this breed has speed in spades. Never fights the same way but obviously takes advantage. Whenever he got into these fights it was because someone was irresponsible and did not have their dog on leash or properly secured in their yard. I don't know what an Akita's dog fight ranking is. I do know that a number of pits have lost their lives due to mixing it up with an Akita. Bottom Line: You can use a fighting dog as a guard dog but you CAN NOT use a guard dog as a fighting dog.

I have a 7 year old wolf/husky hybred (only 33% wolf) that weighs around 90-100 lbs (he's getting fat) and he beat the hell out of a pit that weighed somewhere between 80-90 lbs- Mean looking dog. Not even a close fight. I let it go on for awhile because it was so violent that I didn't even want to stick a leg out to kick them apart. The pit went for his neck but the massive amount of fur protected my dog. He then pulled his head back and bit down and covered the pit's snout - he then flipped the pit and went for the soft underbelly. I'm sure if I hadn't been there the pit would be dead. BTW this all happend while my dog was on an extended leash (the pit was some free roaming ghetto dog) that I was pulling on the whole time. If I hadn't clipped him when he was two he would be a vicious animal from hell! However, I wouldn't put him against a trained fighting pit. He's actually a really friendly dog.

the truth about dog fighting is different breeds different results. bull terriers can hold there own against pits but rotti would take the bull terrier. pits are good at fighting but u dont really have to train them 2 fight. a lot of pits are top of the lita, steroids, barely feed and when they are fed sometimes cocaine n gun powder is sprinkled on there food. dogos n presa n filas could fight but i wouldnt put money on them. as for tosa'sthey were bred 4 fighting but dont put them on the top of the list. even a english mastiff could stand with it. who eva made that first list dont put the rotti down its under raited anyone who actualy fights dogs would kno.

ill tell ya the best match youll ever see now they arent the best fighting dogs but a good heavy english mastiff against a bull mastiff. the BM will be too fast and lock (instinctively)to the EM, but it doesnt have the raw power to take down the EM (practically a bull) which will thrash around. if the BM hangs on the EM will die if he lets go the EM will shred him not pretty but an amazing fight either way. and as far as my 'best fighting dogs' theres no way anyone could rank them. the breeding, the rearing, the dogs tenacity, its pretty much random but the obvious choices are the fighting breeds and the big war dogs. if anyone could breed a mastiff with the speed of a smaller fighter it would be unbeatable. not sure if that would be physically possible. i wouldnt mind seeing a bullmastiff that didnt lock either theyre good for hunting but they cant fight as well as they should

lol ive heard some interesting comments toward wolves vs. dog breeds...LOL wolves wont necessarily crush regular breed dogs, especially not ANY breed of dogs....for one...wolves have natural survival instincts...and dogs have limited or none...but based on their survival instincts...a wolf will learn when to run...whereas...a dog such APBT or Tosa Inu..will probably fight till death....a wolf's main tactive..is to hunt in packs..when its by itself..their survival instinct will tell him to run when hes beat...the Tosa Inu and APBT like i said...are known to fight till death....and that makes a big difference...and dependin on the trainer...the dogs can be just as smart if not smarter than the wolf....survival instinct is important, but the wolf just doesn't dominate as much when its fighting its own battles...dats my opinion heh =D

Hey pro's it seems like you all have a special interest in the type of dog that you personaly own but, the truth is that any dog can kill any dogg, for instance every one here is saying that the Doberman is'nta fighting dog but I know for a fact that a Doberman has killed a Rottweiler in 10 seconds, he killed a Pitt Bull in 4 minutes and he also defeated a wolfe althought that was the ruffest fight he came out victorious in all three matches, So how I see it is "Every dog has his day" and the only reason Pitts get #1 on the list so often is because of their mass population, reputation and because ther'essoooo many pitt bull fights that ofcourse you're going to hear of alot of victorious pitts, but keep in mind the other dogg that lost is usually another pitt or a mutt. I've had 2 rotts 2 pitts and 2 dobermans.

the 3 bests dogs are in this order 3rd tosa inu's ok they can fight but there fighting is like a dog version on sumo wrestling hence why its still legal nothing like the vicious version the british inhabited, 2nd pit bull strong, tenacious, intelligent they will fight for extreme lengths of time 1st the staffordshire bull terrier (english) they are exstremley (tenacious like no other breed) they are shorter than pitt bulls an lighter but they are the original fihgting dogs not cross bred with bull mastifs or any mollosser hence the pitbull developed from it they can pull just as much weight as a pitt bull despite being nearly half its weight. there have been cases of staffordshire bull terriers kill 2 rottweilers they are the ultimate fighting dogs huge athletisism (they hold the record for higest jump by dogs!) enormous tenacity and heart the staffordshire bull terrier is theultimate fighting dogs!.pitt buls and every other fighting dog may have originated from it but if its not broke why fix it!!!

ok yes pits are great... but o boy up top has a piont, they dont listen for anything, and i would trust one about as far as i could throw him. now ridgeback is a real dog. they were bred to hunt and take down lions in africa. if they can handle an 800 pound lion im sure they would have no problem looking a pit in the eyes and dancing the ring with him. next great dog is the coon hound. yes many think they are used for only tracking. wrong they are used for treeing as well and if a bear does not go in the tree what do you hink that coonhound is going to do. not run away. and one more the dalmation. no its not just a dumb dog that sits on a fire engine. in the roman days dalmations were bred to fight in arenas along side with the greatist gladiators. they were also used as gaurds for the ceasar. so yes looks can be decieving and remember they dont have to look like a fighter to be a champ. so all in all hunting dogs, the ones with the true taste of killing, the ones that are fueled by the smallest scent of blood are your best bet for a top fighting dog

All of you are more than wrong... putting away the exceptions (i owned a female rottie that was able to beat almost anything included two game pits, bull mastiff, great Dane, an Akita, among others, and in all those cases, she doesn't start the fight, but had to defend)there is, and i repeat, there is no match for a full-growth, healthy Kangal of a fighting line. tied in second place I'llput the bully kutta, the boer-boel and the Caucasian owtcharka, and there is no particular case, and i repeat THERE IS NO PARTICULAR CASE in which a Doberman or a boxer can beat a rottie, maybe an over-sized German Shepperd can, it's possible than a presa canario or an dogo argentino.

I have to say coming from a family of old dog men, when it comes to fighting dogs you gotta look at the facts. The APBT and Tosa were both bred specifically as master fighters. The Tosa perhaps for longer but the APBT has the advantage of a larger breeding pool. If you know anything about breed history period then you know ther eis no question. The APBT is hands down the best period, end of discussion. The Tosa is second period. After that any bull terrior breed bred to be game would come in third but who cares. As far as wolf or wolf hybrids, well do some research, you may like to think of your dog as tough and it may hurt your ego to be told he's not a fighter but those are the facts. Sure your wolf is no slouch but he's not a fighter, he's not bred for the pit! or anything for that matter he's a wild animal at best and at worst he's a hybrid who is at constant conflict with his wild urges a monster who's creation should have never been....not a master fighter. You can say I don't know what I'm talking about if you will, however it will be you who looks the fool as the facts are on my side.

a doberman could be a fighting dog, anyway i huv a doberman who almost killed 2 boxers (both were male so is my dobe)anyway 1st apbt 2nd caucasian ovcharka 3rd american stafforshierd terrier Why pit bull well because i saw a dog fight were a pit bull fought off 3 american bull terries amd had fetal injures and serjery but the pit bull soon died in the hospital, it is first becuse of bearvery. 2nd way because its a killer i once saw it take down a fully grown bear. 3rd american tafforshierd terrier because it litterly 2 bull terriers by its self now theres 3 fighters you dogs dont want to mess with, but there is a finall breed ur dogs should bak off or run a way and thats # 4 The Doberman pincher

listen fools, y'all fools all wrong. 1st it's a pit u ass wipe. 2nd a vicious ass chihuahua. then a wolf dummies. Doberman's will be crushed like peanuts. then astaffie or a bull terrier. who said their doberman kilt a pitbull. i could kill a doberman with my own bare hands! Get at me. Dear viewers , I have read all the above posts about the dogs you all like , i am a boxer man personally , i do not fight dogs , but i do respect a serious dog bred for fighting , i have viewed some interesting fights between some of my boxers , and other dogs [even a female pitbull i owned for 3 weeks] usually these fights occur on a building site , when guys let their dogs out to sniff around etc] let me tell you all this ,, they are not really true dog fights ,,yes sure they all can tear it up , but how long do they go for ? 5 minutes ? , 10 minutes ? , this is not much of a sign of a fighting dogs potential , one boxer i had , was amazing to watch , he went straight for the muzzle , or ear of the other dogs , all the time , giving the other dog no chance to get him , but every chance to scream !! , but is my boxer a true fighter ?? , pit him against a seriously bred and trained to fight Pit bull , and mate , say good bye to the boxer !! some boxers have a overwhelming desire to fight , which could be a sign of their old days , this could be bred back into the breed over the years ,a keen boxer that loves to fight doesn't bark , or growl much , but their intelligence and relative gameness and front body strength will give him the edge over non fighting breeds like the German Sheppard , Doberman etc,, , any-day !! but a tough game pit bull ? , i some how font think the boxer will get too far ,, he has not had the recent years of fighting [100 years] , all the time to breed the less game dogs out the picture , no contest really !! guys ,, if any other breed could whip a APBT consistently , mate they would be in the pit , where it really counts !! , the American Bulldog , i think has some potential , there are good and bad fighting pit bulls by the way , but pound for pound , best on best , is the Gage you should refer to with true fighting dogs , give me a pit bull in this category , and ill get rich , using him against these other breeds you talk about. this is my view , from down under Australia , cheers to all , and above all , love your dog , no matter what the breed !! It worries me to see so many peole actually bragging about their dogs hardness lol I have a Staffordshire bull terrier and an english Bull Terrier(thee original may I add ;)) I live in Scotland and we got our Staffie from a rescue centre. He had been used for pit fighting in London and Glasgow and was taken from the owner to be destroyed(the owner was sent to prison) but my wife worked in the rescue centre and fell in love with wee Bruce. He was hard work at first as he tried to kill everything he seen but after years of hard work and training he is now a great family pet and although I would fully trust him with kids etc he still needs to be carefully monitered when other dogs are around coz if they try and go for him he knows exactly what he's doing when he attempts to kill them. He nearly killed an aggresive boxer a few years back and I had to choke him until he fainted in order to make him let go but in his defence the Boxer kept attacking him and his reaction was the same you'd see from any dog after three or four goes from this dog. As for sheer strength of a dog I reckon a fully grown English Bull Terrier male would be the most ferocious beast in the dog world. It is called "the gladiator of terriers" afterall.

the answer to your question is my own opinion and I not bothered what any one eles replies to my answer because for them probably a waste of time doin so .... first apbt second ....tosa.....third...I don't know what cud be third because any dog can beat any other dog if there lucky like humans for example a big fat bloke vs small skinny bloke any thing can happen it all depends on what mood ur in and luck realy but the resson I have chosen apbt and tosa they are the main fighting breeds apbt are feared by many people and the japan fighting dog is also well known to the dog fighting comuntiy I disagree on dog fighting because its out of order on the dog for example think that u was a slave to ur master and ur master made u fight for u life to earn him some extra cash not very fair is it well for those of u who may reply to this comment with such remarks as we don't want ya life story or u don't know nothen bout dogs or any type f insults because its a discussion about the top three fighting dogs and peoples opinions is not for peopal to dis other people opinions u may moan at me for writing a big old page lol sorry for that but I'm just having the fredom of speech I'm not a dog breeder I just own a german shepherd and a boxer and my boxer beat itin a fight by the way lol well sorry for me spelling and that for I am lazy and only 14 so f..u..k it lol

in case the previous comment was not published , ive cleaned it up a little. i havent time to fully examine the detail of the rubbish put on this page by some "tool" who wrote about some other breed of dog causing a wolf to run from a fight, this guy is telling lies, any one who done the slightest bit of research into wolves would know that the timber wolf can weigh up to: 13stone, 180lbs or 80kg. this is very near the weight or the largest st bernard dogs and heavier than most. this weight is not put on by hand fed lumps of bread and choclate, these creatures hunt for their food while having to compete with the likes of grizzly bears and mountain lions. the grizzly bear and timber wolf have mutual respect for eachother (they will not fight because they are afarid of eachother). in all human organised dog vs bear fights the bears teeth and claws are removed before the fight by the humans, and then the bear is well out numbered by dogs and still it is capable of killing these dogs (not always the case - but for **** sake its natural weapons are removed). howerer, it may be possible for a wolf to run from a dog but only if the dog is accompanied by a human, because a wolf is afraid of humans. BUT if the wolf feels his life is threatened or if the wolf is sick or hungry it WILL attack with extreme agression and power just like it would attack a bear, mountain lion or other wolf packs. no breed of dog either cross or full bread could even entertain a half healthy wolf in a fight, these creatures are nuatral fighters and get much more practice than your trained fighting dog remember they are not locked up safely in a shead at night! also they heal from injury much quicker than city dogs.

Dobermans can be vicious, but at the same time a great family dog. In my opinion a doberman is a great fighting dog, ive seen 2 guard dogs in 2 different lots collide in an accidental mistake of opening both gates at once and the doberman destroy a highly trained Rotty, the Rotty took a fetal position and was destroyed and dragged into the dobermans yard by the doberman after the fight. I feel that if the doberman is fighting for something, aka protecting his master he can be a great fighter. Dobermans are the best breed in my opinion, great family dogs. Also, last night a Pitbull down the street from me kill a Pomeranian for no reason, just snapped its body in half, thats a dog that should be put down, Pitbulls are garbage and they are all trash, they are not family dogs they belong in a cage 24/7 they are the most nasty and vicious dogs ive seen, if a pit came at me while with my doberman im for sure my doberman would kill the pit to protect me or my family.

Guys..have any of you see a pittbull fight? do you guys have any idea wat a pittbull is capable of? which dog wins weight pulling competitions? which has the most endurance (in a fight) when a dog fights, his system totally shuts down bringing out abnormal behaviour. i had a pitt 2 years ago, unfortunatly i needed money so i had to fight him...SKY fought 9 times... he never lost....the 9 times he fought was against pittbulls and there was 3 occasions when he fought a different breed... Rottweiller- sky actually hanged beneth the rottie and punch 4 holes in the dogs chest.. there was nothing the rott could do..after about 6 minutes the rott layed on the grass while sky was chewing on his chest... OUTCOME>>> the rott died later that day... Boer bull- very quick outcome.. owner unleashes his dog on me..lol..i ran like hell and got to the gate...gave a wistle...sky comes running and the boer bull smashes sky out the way... but... then i notice the boer bull standing still.... sky tor the boer's styfle... no where to go and sky unleashes hell breaking a rear leg of the bull... OUTCOME>>> Sky whipped his ass bul terrior- here i thought sky would have his day... dude insists that i should unleash sky... i do one grab on top of the head and the owner's eyes are in tears..i break sky and go on my way...OUTCOME>> Bull terrior cannot fight offensively.. My Predicament...... dogs cannot abosorb as much pain as a APBT... the cannont bite as hard, the lack the skill of the deadly SHAKE the APBT mastered... seriously guys... only competition for a APBT is a APBT... nothing else...

any one who wants to chat about dog fighting is a bit cracked in the head however my 1/2 pit 1/2 bullmastif. hes a great dog but on a off key day theres not any dog that will give he a run for his money. The gentleness of a bull and the pyscho gameness of a pitt. Beat that!

I bet you that I, a wild timber wolf could kill a game pit bull in less than 5 minutes. I have jaw strength compared to that of a bear. I am fast from dodging moose hooves all day. I am agile. any dog can fight ,it matters how big the fight in the dog ...and yes a wolf or wolf/shepard mixed untrained can and will kill a full blooded (any) dog ..i have seen it done ,my shep/wolf at 90lbs has killed two of my own pits .....reason : they are naturally smarter and know how to curcumvent....

the pitbull is far and away the finest fighting dog in the world , followed closely by the tosa third is somewhat irrelevant because the breeds arent really even close to the top two.....suv2002 has no clue what he is talking about the wolf's will to survive would force it to run away from a fight with a pit and if cornered the pit would crush it.

listen its not how strong is the dog but its the speed smartness and technique 1st class 1st BOXER because it thinks before it fights 2nd APBT 3rd BULL TERRIER 4th DOGO ARGENTO 5th AMERICAN BULLDOG now here are the 2nd class every dog here cant beat the dog above. 1st TOSA 2nd STAFFY 3rd DOBERMAN 4th ROTTWIELER 5th GERMAN SHEPARD and now third class 1st HUSKY 2nd CHOW CHOW 3rd VIZ LA 4th SHEEP DOG and the best maches would be 1 BOXER vs APBT 2 BULL TERRIER VS APBT 3 DOGO VS AMERICAN BULLDOG 4 BOXER VS DOGO BUT THE BEST MACH OFF ALL WOULD BE BOXER VS ABPT.

my doberman is a maniac and a genious and i havent ran into a dog he hasnt took down and and clamp onto thier neck it was 8 months old and took on a full grown pit bull and we broke it up b4 the pit was killed

Hello everybody what yall was talking about the dog fighting i think the apbt and the tosa are like the best fighting dogs.And i agree with the person at the front of the page he said that apbt and tosa were in the first class and i got to tell doberman something dorberman'sare not a fighting dog they might be vicious but they are not a fighting dog.

i'verecently seen a perro de toro(a type of spanish bulldog) completely destroy a pit and another a bull terrier. sma owner, very cool looking dogs.

I have to agree that the "pit bull breeds" are awesome fighters, the tosa, and the caucasian ovthcharka is a very dominant dog and fighter. Also, chows are very powerful, a chow matched with a dog of similar weight class could put down alot of other breeds! I have a 80 pound chow that went toe to toe with a pit and when we broke it up it was a draw, my chow had a lock on this dog so tight a short metal pole had to open his mouth to stop the fight.

Hello I have two Cane Corso'sand they are not third class fighting dogs you idoit!!! my dog(Roxie) grabed a pitt and killed him instanly!! I am 14 and have rasied these dogs all my life, I know how they opperate they were also used for war dogs and you gonna tell me they are third class? Whatever!!

If your talking about domestic dogs, then probably pit pulls pound for pound are one of the best fighters. But a Sivas Kangal can kill a pitbull no problem. These dogs can even kill Timber wolves (which they regularly do) and protect livestock...tell me which dog breed can kill a timber wolf? These dogs dont waste time with fighting, they go straight for the kill - similar to how a lion attacks. 1st Kangal, 2nd Ovkarcha, 3rd Tosa

You're all wrong here, i'mgunna lay it to you straight, so listen up: The best dogs overall are defenatly the chiguaguas, pound for pound the greatest dog in the world, and could take down 4 dogs at once or even more!

pits tosas and dogos in no paticular order. although dogos arenit fighting bred they would make a formidable opponent . macker i have a pit i herd dogos look like white pits tell me more

really it depends on the equality of the dogs tat r fighting,ive got an american staffy and it took down a pit cross staffy but thats been its only fight and i would like 2 no if they r a good fighting dog.

The Pit-Bull is no-1 English-Irish Staff no-2 crosses between these breeds no-3 Tosa's& these top 3 fight to different rules. The dogs i have picked will all fight to the death other dogs won't, the game is about gameness

personally i have a pit and a boerboel and the boerboel dominates the pit. yeah the pits tough but not only does the boerboel have the mastiff breed power it also is extremely agile.
