We have had pups born all hours of the day...seems Murphy"s law does like to have a hand in things making sure the pups arrive at the most inconvenient time...bad weather, middle of the night...etc! Best of luck on your arrival

No, well not all anyway. My Boston Terrier had one litter starting at 3:00 am and one at 10:00 am so I think it just depends on the female.

it mainly depends on the temperature of the dog to know how many hours until the birth, but most dogs just have temps. that lead in to the night

no, not all puppies are born during the night. but the reason is that the mother is in labor, and it is known that she likes her privacy where she feels secure and that she can have her puppies born in a quiet place. which gives her the time to bond with her puppies, my chihuahua had her pups during the day. and in fact, it was in the little kennel we bought her. so no, not all dogs have thier puppies at night. it depends when she has her contractions. if the temp is above 100.00 then it should be in 24 hours, but if it is below 99.00 then it should be in 12 hours.
