when a female dog has puppies do they have a afterbirth and what does she do with it?

Yes a female dog does have afterbirth which usually comes out a while after the pups are born. She will eat the afterbirth because it contains the proteins she needs so dont worry if you notice her doing this.

after the dog have the puppies after 3 days should she still be dripping whith afterbirth.

yes they do have after birth and it looks really wierd. My maltese'slooked like a huge piece of liver. She ate it.

The reason WHY a dog, cat, horse, or any other animal eats their afterbirth is to prevent the blood smell from attracting predators.

Is it ok to wash the mom dog the day after she had the puppies?
