Does anyone know if Factory G60 pistons are forged? ...

Does anyone know if Factory G60 pistons are forged?   GTiBoost@aol.com

Only the pistons from the year -91 on the g60 are forged...

no they are not forged they are cast, which is where a mold of the piston is made and then melted metals are poured into the mold, and then you have your piston.  a forged piston is where they take a block of metal or alloy and carve out the piston.

no! VW g60 pistons are 100% cast as due to cost and of the larger piston skirt(i.e. from the bottom piston ring or oil ring to the bottom of the piston)
