Make sure the dealer balances the wheels as per TRD Bulletin WH002 - 00 (Nov 19, 2001). There's a special proceedure, and this should take care of it.

I have 2002 Tundra. I just received my 9th TRD rim in 1-1/2 years. The finish flakes off the outside edge, (if you live in snow/salt country), and they are known to be a little out of whack... I got the dealer to replace mine

it might be a driveline harmonic distortion.  i had one in the last tundra i owned.  the local dealer could not check for it because they didn't have the proper tools/machine.  between a certain speed range (mine was 68-72) a pulsing vibration slightly shook the truck (not the steering wheel - you could feel it in the floorboard with your feet).  you could really feel it on a smooth highway.

I owned 03 Tundra and had the same problem.  Toyota dealer changed tires, re-packed bearings but the noise did not go away.  I guess it was coming from differentials.  Toyota said it has to be checked by Toyota corp, not a dealer.

I have a 2001 Ivan Stewart TRD, I have not had any issues with vibration but I have had an issue with the wheels pitting. I had the dealer replace the wheels after the 1st year of use and the new one's are starting to pit now.

yes this is a problem but not with just the TRD all 6 lug wheels have this problem it is that the TRD has a more sensitive suspension it is easily fixed by finding a shop that uses a flange plate balancing system.this system is required by every auto manufacture in the industry but is seldom used hawakee is the worlds largest (German made) vibration solutions is also based out of north Carolina 1 800 242 6687 the system gets the wheel and tire assembly perfectly centered on the machine buy using the lug bolt holes not a plastic cup which is used by 99.9% of all shops or go to my web site to learn more www.pitcrewtire.com Craig Knarich 727-pit-crew

I own a 2002 TRD Ivan Stewart Edition and have the original wheels.  I had it rotated and balanced and I am also having the same problems especially if I am hitting the brakes.

Any solutions?

make sure who ever balance your wheels uses a haweeka adapter on the balancer...all toyota wheels are a pain in the ass!!! not many tire shops have this.. but it is the only thing that works
