We are considering getting a 5 month old black Lab.  However, we want a dog that will get along with our other animals.  We have chickens and ducks and will have alpacas next month.  We are also considering getting goats or sheep.  Considering the fact that the retreiver is a sporting/hunting dog, we wonder if we will we be able to train and trust this Lab to respect our other animals like the chickens and ducks.  We have already had bad experience with a 1 year old German Shepherd and our chickens, so we definitely do not want to make the mistake of getting the wrong kind of dog for our situation.
