I have a Seeburg LPC-1 Juke box.  It was working fine and then started "slowing down".  It got slower and slower and finally stopped.  Although everything seems to be "powered up" it won't do anything; ie.it won't select records, etc.  HELP!

Your problem could be caused by a few things. For starters the auto speed unit could be bad ; or you may have a motor that quit on you. A point to remember is that the LPC-1 was originally designed to play 33 1/3 RPM ALBUMS. That means that the mech was geared for the 33 1/3 speed. Therefore, in order to play a 45 RPM record, the motor had to turn faster. This was done by way of the auto speed unit. From years and years of use, the motor gets tired... I would start with the speed unit (may be a start up capacitor).  Remember that most of the "slow run" problems with the motor were on the first or second records played. Once the motor got warmed up, the rest of the records usually played just fine...
NOTE: I think there is a sight that sells a rebuild/repair kit for that particular unit, but I can't remember where.  GOOD LUCK

You probably have a bad Running Capicitor on the Drive Motor. It will probably be in the range of a 5 mfd
