Seek professional assistance from a qualified medical physiotherapist.  The most important thing is to allow all the components of your shoulder and back to fully repair before placing strain on them.  In the mean time you should exercise very lightly, only for the purposes of maintaining maneuverability and base muscle ability.

I am also recovering from a shoulder injury and have had several back surgeries it is very important you see a physical therapist for the proper exercise techniques or your shoulder will not fully recover

thats right. also, one of the most gentle form of exercise is called "pilates". its similar to yoga, but it builds and strengthens muscles while stretching and flexing. it is very effective and safer for your back problems and shoulder recovery. but of course, under the supervision of a trained physiotherapist.
