My 1980 aircooled westvalia started having weak battery symptoms, then the electric fuel pump started making noise and the van began stalling on me after about twenty or thirty minutes into a trip. I replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump with a new one and was only registering 23 lbs of fuel line pressure. The electric fuel pump never stops running now and is still noisy and the van still stalls on me leaving me in the middle of intersections. The relay is working, the computer is working and now the shop is telling me it is the electrical wiring and we are looking for the diagram because now the engine will not even start now. My battery had to be charged once during this shop visit and now it needs to be charged again. Could it be the battery needs to be replaced? Why is the electric fuel pump always working now when the ignition is turned on and never stops? I thought it was supposed to stop when the pressure is reached? Is 23 lbs the proper amount of fuel pressure for fuel injector engines? The new pump says on it 105 lbs and I had to change the wire ends from push on clips to round loop ends because the new pump had little bolts with washers and small nuts. Is this normal? Has anyone had this happen to them? I need help. Where can I get the wiring diagram for my vehicle? Could a electrical wire have come loose?  Signed Rocky in Ensenada
