I have a male, 5-month old Dobe, whom I love greatly, however, he has one bad habit.  I also have chihuahuas and there is one chihuahua in particular that he cannot stand. Whenever this chihuahua walks into the room - the Dobe will growl and soon after will lunge at the littler dog.  Now, I don't think he would actually do irreparable harm to the smaller dog, it is, nevertheless disconcerting when this happens.  I have sent him from the room when he does this, I have told him 'no' repeatedly and still the behavior does not change.  I could certainly use some suggestions.  Thanks.  Ginger

You can let them spend time together supervised, but you should keep hold of their collars and introduce them carefully.

I have the same sort of problem with a 3 month old doberman and a four month old boxer who is actually bigger than the dobe but the dobe, plays a little to hard for my taste. I got an e-collar and when he lunges I  press the button on minimum setting and he stops and has pretty much stop this behavior. I know some people do not like the e-collar, I did not at first but it works great and real fast.
