If you´re using Win XP goto to System-Device Manager-Sound Video & Game Controllers, and update your AC97 Enhanced Audio Controller (WDM).

I formatted my computer and reinstalled XP and the same thing happened to me when i installed Service Pack 2 and still can't get any sound ... any help?

a better answer there kelly would be change DRIVERS not drives. you are probable not running either the most current drivers for your card or you are running the wrong driver for your card. goto start run and type dxdiag for a screen with futher diagnostic tools

GO TO THE START MENU THEN CLICK RUN. IN THE BOX TYPE IN services.msc A SCREEN WILL POP UP. THEN SCROLL DOWN TO window audio AND CLICK ON IT. RIGHT NOW IT IS OFF SO CLICK START TO TURN IT ON. THIS WILL SOLVE THE AUDIO PROBLEM 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME.
