You just have to listen to her. If she stops having her heats regularly due to getting older or seems to be slowing down some then don't risk it. My friends had a dog that they suspected was too old but they bred her anyway and she died giving birth to premature pups.:( I wouldn't breed after or too near the double digits in age.

I would say I wouldnt breed it when it turns ten.I have a Siberian husky and going to breed her. Th best ages to breed her is 2-5. You can get exallent puppies and a really good mom to go with them at that age.

Hi! I have a four year old great Dane who has never had a little, and still goes into heat every 7 months. She is in great shape and gets plenty of exercise. I know great Danes tend to age faster then some other breeds, so is she too old to breed without a big chance of her dying or having to have a C-section?

My father in law had a queensland heeler she is about 8 or 9 years old he found her stuck to a pitbull and obviously is now pregnant, he was going to get rid of her cause she is pregnant but her being an older dog and pregnant i just knew no one would take her so my husband and i took her! now my question is she too old to have these puppies? she is a very very good dog and she is healthy!
